Probably not the one you were expecting, eh?
Batleth asked:
Since ZG and ZA will now be lvl 85 heroic dungeons in 4.1...does that mean the current lvl 70 10 main raid ZA will go away? Or stay put?
The achievement for completing the Zul'Aman raid becomes a Feat of Strength in 4.1, so it's safe to say that running the dungeon as a raid will no longer be possible.
Croc asked:
I was just curious since there seem to be mixed opinions online. My guild downed Omnitron last night and dropped Organic Life Inverter. Since we don't have a rogue they gave it to me as an enhancement shammy. I said it wouldn't be good since I keep reading slow/slow is way to go but everyone said increase over windslicer would make up for it, should I use it as offhand or keep windslicer? I am only enhance shaman in guild so I figured I would ask on here.
As an enhancement shaman, you should always be using a slow weapon in both hands. Even if the dagger has more DPS, you should be using your slow axe simply due to the way that your class mechanics work.
(Yes, there are people who use caster main-hands, but it's bound to get fixed or neutered one way or another, so it's better to focus on what your spec is actually meant to use.)
Rachmalz asked:
Is it a running joke with you guys to post something to fill the comments section with nothing but response to whatever you post so that the next guy has 20 pages of comments to read through?
This is mainly a thing that Adam does. To me.
Seminormal asked:
So with 4.1 raiding content changing/being removed when will they close the current PVP season? Obviously they cant give us a new PVP season and therefore upgraded PVP weapons with no way for PVE players to get equivalent raid quality weaponry.
It looks like the next arena season will start with 4.2, since that's when the VP -> JP conversion happens for PvE. Bear in mind that the weapons and armor coming from ZA and ZG will be item level 353, though.

I don't think Charlie Sheen wears enough eye mascara to be considered a warlock.
Noyou Mar 4th 2011 1:57PM
Charlie Sheen: you picked a fight with a Warlock.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using this word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Charlie Sheen: I've got Tiger blood and Adonis DNA.
Vincini: Inconceivable!
Cataca Mar 4th 2011 1:57PM
I was thinking this same thing when watching the interviews.
"They picked a fight with a warlock"
"I've got tiger's blood"
“I’m tired of pretending like I’m not bitching, a total fricking rock star from Mars"
When talking about his behavior he says that it was "Epic"
When talking about people following AAA he describes them as "Trolls".

Helvetica, of course.

How did the Draenei survive the Exodar smashing into the planet?
Wolfshanze Mar 4th 2011 2:12PM
Seatbelts on and trays in their stowed/locked position.
Jonisjalopy Mar 4th 2011 3:00PM
Don't forget the proper crash position of putting your head betwixt your own legs and kissing your ass goodbye!
VioletArrows Mar 4th 2011 3:14PM
Besides a lot of them actually not surviving as you see from the beginning quests, it's likely some lottery twice in a row luck involving a talking chandelier shield (they do remind me of prot paladins) and the stasis pod rooms being thrown free of the crash.
Grovinofdarkhour Mar 4th 2011 5:50PM
I was under the impression most of them *didn't* survive.
Ergo, if they had *chosen* to land on Azeroth, there would be much stronger markets for tentacle moisturizer and hoof polish.

I'm not on the busiest of servers but it seems to me as if world pvp has all but become a thing of the past.
Does this hold true with anyone else? Is it just a case of people still getting geared up? Or does Tol Barard fill everyones PVP needs outside of BGs by and large?
Or (as I suspect) does being able to use a flying mount almost everywhere nullify the possibility of some PVP breaking out?
Jaq Mar 4th 2011 11:40AM
The largest source of world PVP on my server was Alliance going for the Horde leaders. As Garrosh has over 100 million health, I haven't seen any raids rolling into Org to try him yet. Couple that with the fact that there are level 85 elite guards everywhere these days, making hitting old favorite towns a little more difficult, and World PVP seems dead.
Vladeon Mar 4th 2011 11:54AM
World pvp happens the most in twilight highlands where the dailies are. Also its the zone that's easiest to catch and kill botters which is basically free honor.
Nina Katarina Mar 4th 2011 12:26PM
We've had some very fun world pvp on raid nights, waiting for folks to assemble just outside Blackwing. Especially right after Tol Barad changes hands - folks decide to go to Blackwing instead, forget that they're still flagged, and drop down on a platform full of bored people waiting for their raid to assemble. Hilarity ensues. We've gone half an hour past raid start time several nights, just because we were having too much fun.
Vladeon Mar 4th 2011 1:27PM
@Nina Katarina
On a pvp server, that happens too, but generally the only people who are on the platform are those that have tried to enter the instance after a wipe only to find out that someone inside is still alive. You spawn outside the portal entrance with half health and mana and get two shotted by the group of "pvpers" outside the instance portal. It's pretty distasteful and I'm sure you're not one of those people. Maybe my ideas of pvp are antiquated but it seems like getting honor should be honorable.
Aaron Mar 4th 2011 1:46PM
I play on a pvp server and we have some really hardcore pvp guilds on both factions, but I think they fight more on the forums than in game. I know doing CoC used to starts some really engaging fights, but that may have calmed now that not as many people are running it. The most fun I had was in Vash where an under water "war" broke out that lasted a good 45 minutes. It probably went on a bit after I had to leave, but it was tons of fun.
Other than that, even our mid pop server is pretty quiet as far as world pvp goes. Stuff breaks out from time to time during holiday events, but that's all I can think of really.
Noyou Mar 4th 2011 2:02PM
I've only played on 2 medium to low pop PvE servers. World PvP is definitely not huge but if you turn on /worlddefense (or select it as "on" from your chat settings) you can see all the opposite faction activity and you might be surprised what you see. I personally suck at PvP but I like it and don't mind chasing hordie out of our cities :)
loop_not_defined Mar 4th 2011 2:04PM
Vladeon, PVP servers are not about getting honor, and I'm certain the player killers did not kill you for a few points of honor. While it may be honorable to spare someone's life, it shouldn't be expected.
I'm not sure how you could consider your opinions to be antiquated. I've been PVPing since EverQuest and Asheron's Call...and everything I have read about Ultima Online indicates it wasn't much different.
Red typically equals dead, and has since the dawning of MMOs. It is war, after all.
Please don't think I'm trying to insult those who choose to play honorably. I think it's commendable, and (usually) do so myself. I just don't believe admonishing player killing on a PVP server is appropriate. You're on a PVP server. It's meant to be dangerous.
Wolfshanze Mar 4th 2011 2:21PM
I play on a PvP server and I relish killing the enemy... the only good Horde is a dead Horde IMHO.
In regards to the farming of honor, it is a means to an end, but not the goal itself.
I do BGs, Arena, etc so I can purchase good enough PvP gear to farm Horde ears in world PvP. I once killed a Horde who then logged onto an alliance toon to tell me that I was a known Horde menace on the server and that I was on the Horde "Kill on Sight List".
Proudest day in my life... I almost shed a tear of joy (but that would be out of character for my trained assassin of Hordies).
DarkWalker Mar 4th 2011 4:05PM
I believe most world PvP died with BC.
There are still a few sporadic meetings, and a few pockets of action, but outside official PvP zones, I haven't seen much PvP besides simple lowbie griefing.
Playing as Alliance on a medium-high population Horde-dominated PvP server, it was usually multiple weeks between attempted attacks on my character.
Dreyja Mar 4th 2011 5:33PM
There's finally a dude in Ogrimmar I WANT to kill and it's virtually impossible to do so now. Honestly, I like that they amped up the city defenses, it needed to be done but dangit, I wanna punch that WARCHIEF in the FACE! XD
The douchy pvpers are still at it on my server. You know the types. They shadow step up to a ledge in IF that that guards and defenders can't get to and proceed to snipe at lower players and npcs. That's not PVP it's pure jackassery.
