The Queue: It's a moose, all right?

Hey, it's Mat here, filling in for Mike Sacco. I love filling in for Mike Sacco! He's so dreamy...
Also, that's a moose. Quit bugging me.

Question for the Queue:
If the 140 VP reward for 'tier 2' heroics went live, players would be able to reach the weekly valor point cap without having to raid. Do you think this is good or bad for the game?
I think it's great for those who don't raid, considering that was sort of the plan all along, I thought. The cap was instituted to gate progress and provide a reward to raiders in terms of time. As a raider, I can hit the cap pretty quickly with a couple nights of raiding and a heroic here and there. If you don't raid, you have to spend more "days" online hitting the cap, and with a slower accumulation. Both get to reach the cap, but with different intervals.
As for if it is good for the game or not, if you put in the time to gear up, you should be able to get some gear. It is still not a trivial ordeal to get geared up for heroics and raids, so anything that makes it a little easier opens up the playing field during the content. Since the ilevel gating keeps you from queueing up in the random dungeon finder before you run tier 1 regulars/heroics, I don't think that it will have too much of an impact.
Taus asked:
Question for the queue: What is Blizzard's reason, or any reason at all, for why you can not fly in Tol Barad? We could fly in WG before and after battle, why have they not implemented that at Tol Barad?
Tol Barad is made up of two very specifically designed zones that were made for ground mounts alone. Their size and shape, as well as the objectives of each, are built to be accomodate one type of travel. Also, there is the bridge lock-out mechanic that would basically be nullified if you could fly over the chasm.

Q for the Queue:
What're the chances that Blizzard will actually make some sort of LFG tool report system where I can report on how awful people act in instances? I'm trying to level a tank and it's next to impossible because of impatient DPS and trolls (and not the "'ey mon I 'it da wrong button" kind).
It'd be nice if I could report people for being douchebags, basically.
Any type of player comment system will never be instituted by Blizzard because it is too easy to exploit. People, on the whole, just aren't going to use the system the way we would hope they would.

I have a question. What happened to Azeroths second moon? Could the reason it vanished have something to do with the Burning Legion?
The Death Knight manga also had the two moons.
Drakkenfyre Mar 6th 2011 11:43PM
I had wondered the same thing, I had heard it was a technical reason, but thought that was ridiculous, until I saw someone's ticket to a GM.
Apparantly it was a technical issue. The second moon wouldn't move in time with the other one. Which makes sense from a technical point of view. There is one skybox visible at one time per zone. If they are in the same "object plane", i.e. they are a part of the skybox, If the moons were in the same skybox, it might be difficult to have two moving with time, in different directions.
So, they just took it out in the patch before Burning Crusade.
Here's a pic of a GM confirming it was a technical issue. http://www.wowpedia.org/images/7/78/Bluemoon.jpg

So.. According to lore, Azeroth still has two moons, but we just never see the second one in-game?
Awesome.

Alternate question:
Pokemon Black or Pokemon White?
Hih Mar 6th 2011 2:15PM
White. White has a forest with 25 pokemon in it to catch, Black has a city where you can buy stuff in it.
Though, as Penny Arcade put it... you're kinda ****** either way...: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2011/3/2/
Drakkenfyre Mar 6th 2011 2:56PM
However White has a shitload of the original Pokemon in that forest, once you get the ability to capture them.
Herman Mar 6th 2011 2:23PM
what are you? some kind of racist?
CaryEverett Mar 6th 2011 2:27PM
As far as I'm concerned, I've never met a white or black person. Every person I met was one color... some shade of brown.
Unless you're really badly sunburned (or embarrassed), then you might be red temporarily. And if you're sick you might be a little green. Never a black or a white person though.

CaryEverett, as an albino I feel oppressed by your insensitivity regarding my existence!

But... but... I've never met an albino :(

@ CaryE
If you want to get nerdy about color, we're all a shade of red. The value and chroma might change, but the hue stays the same.
Value- light to dark
Chroma- intensity- in theory things go to gray, but in reality things usually end up a brownish mess.
Hue- like pure reds, blues, yellows, and each shade in between.
Put them together and you get what we call color, or colour if you prefer.
Zelius Mar 6th 2011 5:23PM
What are the odds? I just listened to that song in a fit of 90s nostalgia.
Pocky Mar 6th 2011 7:53PM
Actually... if you want to get really scientific about it, an item that appears red actually isn't red. It's every colour BUT red as red is the only part of the colour spectrum that the object doesn't absorb. So, if you see something as red, that's because it reflects back the red part of the entire colour spectrum. Same for something that's blue, yellow etc. So, if you look like you're white, it's because your skin reflect back the entire visible colour spectrum. The opposite is true if you look black.
Just sayin'...
