Can someone explain what "home row" is? That sentence completley lost me.

Many people who have been taught to type proffesionally are taught to rest their hands on the "Home Row" which is a s d f j k l ;Then you get people like me who have spent so much time on a computer i've instinctively just memorized the keyboard and my hands are anywhere at any one time :P

Also, the benifit of the home row is easy access to all the keys on the keyboard, and there's some system where certain fingers hit certain areas

You'll notice on most keyboards, the F and J keys have little notches/raised elements on them... this is where your pointer fingers are supposed to rest, making that row the home row.
