I was excited for rated battlegrounds because it gave me a way to participate in decent pvp without having to put up with the annoyance of an arena team or even putting up with arena balance. Then they announced that the rated bgs required pre-made groups, and my enthusiasm disappeared. Raiding with my guild was already a rare occurrence because of my inconsistent schedule, and this was just another thing that would require a regular team and times. I never really see pug groups form for them either, so rated bgs have become about what I've expected they would: something I ignore like the rest of pvp.

I'm with you. My schedule no longer allows raiding so I had planned to make Cata all about rated BGs. Still hoping they might relent, but in the mean time having fun playing the AH game.

Since wow's endgame is all about group work of one type or another, and I like you have found my schedule to be very unpredictable. I to have had to swear off raiding and any hopes of rated BG's. And since there is no other way to get ossim gear endgame I have elected to try a different game. (in this case Rift) Not because I think their endgame will be much different, but because I've gotten so bored leveling new toons to max in wow that I was ready for a change of pace.
