Actually, maybe it would be more helpful if I put up a list of concerns.1) With trash packs, should I attempt to spread DOTs and then use searing pain or just one on one the enemies?2) When I hit Dark Evangelism, should I refresh my DOTs, are is the buff applied to the ones already on the boss?3) Shadow orbs; I don't notice them. ever. Should I?4) Is there any time during a fight where it is appropriate to cast Mind Spike that isn't the opening?

edit: "are" = "or" on #2 there.5) Does anyone else try to proc shadowy apparitions by moving during your global cooldown after casting instants?

I tried for a little while, but for me personally, I found it to be more distracting than anything. I specifically tried it in Magmaw (and we used the strategy where all but 1 or 2 stood melee) but was scared of falling off the cliff or backing up too much and becoming ranged during the fight and have a pillar of fire sprout under me. IMO, try and see if it works for yourself.

Chancedony, some of my tricks, hopefully someone can expand or discount them ;-)1-Trash packs can eat up your mana - max your dps by throwing VT and SW:pain and cycling through, but your mana gets eaten up quickly. Mind Flay if they're low health mobs (die in a few seconds). But a SW:Death can put some of that mana back of you have Masochism talent - else, stick to the marked mob order and burn 'em down one by one. I hate being low on mana.2-) Mind Flay will refresh SW:Pain automatically, so when I pop my Dark Archangel I throw VT, then MB and continue my usual preference/rotation. I could see some benefit to refreshing DP as there's no clipping anymore. But I have no numbers to show one way or the other if there's a good dps bump.3-) Orbs are a nice bonus, but they're not a show stopper to me. Starting a fight I lead with Mind Flay since it should proc at least one orb, then continue as usual. It used to be to not bother with Mind Blast if there wasn't 3 orbs, but now as long as there's one, throw that MB down.4-) There may be an instance, but I haven't read of one yet.5-) Movement puts 60% chance for apparition to proc - hadn't thought about moving during to global CD to try this. Might be good to try strafing right and left a tad to see if it helps.

@FadminYou're doing it wrong ;)You pop Dark Archangel when your DoTs are ON your target already, preferably with as many damage modifiers as possible. If you recast them after you use Dark archangel you:1. Lose precious 10% from your Evangelism stacks2. Lose about 4 precious seconds on your Dark Archangel, which should go into either Mind Blast, Mind Flay or SW:D.Just a small pointer :)

I'm very interested in thoughts on trash rotations. I mainly heal and make no claims to rule at DPS, but on the occasion that I get invited to a guild group that already has a healer, I throw up the offspec to see what I can do. No matter what I do I can't seem to pull good numbers on trash. I figured the biggest thing is trying to get orbs to proc, so generally I SW:P all targets first and proceed to hit VT/DP/MB/MF on the main target, using MB on CD and SW:Dx2 in the 25% range. Plus angel after 5x MF. On trash my execution of this usually gets me in the 8k DPS range according to recount, and my DPS set is average 347 ilvl, heroic-hit-capped. What the fail am I doing wrong? Something about trash just doesn't like me I guess. On boss fights I'm generally pulling closer to the 11k range. Maybe I'm just not changing targets fast enough when dotting? Also very curious what your thoughts on this are when 4.1 rolls around and Mind Sear damage is doubled.

To expand from Fadmin's comment:- Like Boekster said, you do NOT need to reapply DOTs when you pop Dark Arch, their damage will be adjusted as such when Evang goes up.- One thing people seem to forget about Mind Spike is that sometimes having the ability to remove all your DOTs at once can be quite useful. A good example is Omnitron in Blackwing Decent, where you need to switch from one robot to the next, and you need to stop damaging the last one because that can cause ill effects on the raid. Mind Spike comes in incredibly handy in a situation such as that.

@Boekster Good to know - I never checked to see if the dots were affected by the proc or not. Now I"ll not waste the time on Dots (which are always up before any Arch proc happens, but I get your comment). Thanks.
