"Glyph of Greater Proportion" makes the pet bigger... oh god, as if corehounds and devilsaurs weren't huge enough already...
SR Mar 10th 2011 1:27AM
Pets can NEVER be huge enough.
Sky Mar 10th 2011 1:29AM
No matter what the girls say, size does matter..

Umm... you do realize its a minor glyph right? Those are SUPPOSED to be largely cosmetic.
Amorf Mar 10th 2011 4:21AM
Glyph of Mend pet was my only must have minor hunter glyph. This will be my new must have minor glyph. Finally BM hunters can fear not only beasts but everything just by summoning there huge corehounds! :-D
Xaklo Mar 10th 2011 4:18AM
@ Stella....
yeah that.... OR BM hunters could also have that glyph in (as they should have already had mend pet in) and have even more obnoxiously-huge pets than the other 2 specs.

Eliminating the happy-pet-feeding kabuki dance is a straight win. If nothing else, we gain a bag slot back from no longer having to carry food. I can't see that hunters lost anything at all with this change except perhaps some hunter-pet RP, if you're into that. (And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that...)

"If nothing else, we gain a bag slot back from no longer having to carry food."
We'll still have to carry diet-appropriate food, for healing. Unless, of course, you're Draenei and have GoN, or have first aid. My main has both, but I'll probably still carry a stack of food for that instant 50% heal.
Nagheen Mar 10th 2011 12:32PM
They should name it Glyph of Compensation though...
Matthew Mar 10th 2011 1:21PM
Can I get that glyph for real life? PLEASE??

you do know this means longer queues right?
Anything that adds extra filters = longer queues. I'd love for them to put an option where people can choose whether they want to group with players that share an armor type with them. That way people who want the heroic gear get the heroic gear and people who just want to get the run over with get into groups faster.
N-train Mar 10th 2011 1:36AM
I mentioned this down below but I think it bears repeating high up on the thread.
It's only a preference, queue times should not be affected.
Quote:"Wouldn't this increase the queue times for damage dealing classes even more?"
Zarhym:
That's the reason we say it will attempt to do this. There is coding to recognize, and try and match, damage-dealing classes with different armor types, but it will not ultimately do this at the expense of forming a group. The criteria for forming a group will become less stringent if the pool of players the Dungeon Finder is selecting from isn't sufficient.
trefpoid Mar 10th 2011 4:12AM
I'm in love with this change. No more fighting over gear, it's like a dream
Thesix Mar 10th 2011 4:42AM
@Sky
Don't think this will cause longer queues. There's plenty of time to mix and match the huge pool of DPS waiting in line before a tank shows up.
Celeane Mar 10th 2011 7:20AM
This does have the pleasant side effect of reducing the 3-warrior-no-CC teamups some people get.
Sonalita Mar 10th 2011 8:01AM
@sky
Umm nio, the long queues are caused by a shortage of tanks and healers. It won't affect queue times at all
Sir Broose Mar 10th 2011 10:08AM
I posted this back on page 5 or 6, before I realized there was a discussion going on about it here, so forgive the redundancy:
I wouldn't say that it won't affect queue times, at all for dps. When I read that, I immediately wondered if that might make some dps queues shorter than others. I would think that the less played dps armor types might get a *slight* bump. If the dungeon finder is trying to always put 3 different dps armor classes together, then if there are a lower percentage of, say, leather and mail wearing dps in the queue, they might get pulled in faster to satisfy that requirement. Let's say the next 200 dps (probably an exaggeration) waiting in line are all plate and cloth, then perhaps the finder will go down to number 201 and find a shammy, hunter, rogue, or feral to fill a third spot in the next group
I admit, I don't have any idea what the typical percentages are in the LFD, so I don't know what effect this might have, but it's an interesting thought.
Puntable Mar 10th 2011 10:39AM
If anything, it would make the queue times shorter for non-cloth wearers. If you really cared about long queue times you wouldn't be selecting DPS in the first place.
