Back in BC I remember saying "you know what this game needs? Cutscenes." My friend was like "no man that would be dumb and horrible and awful" but even so I still thought it would add another level of awesomeness to the game.In wrath they put in cutscenes and I was like "Wow, they used my idea" and now there's more cutscenes than ever in cata.I still have problems with the cutscenes tho...in wrath I didn't like cutscenes that had you retain control of your character. It seemed wrong that when Arthas, the Lich King, was talking I could jump around him like and idiot and spam AoEs. Luckily they got rid of most of those. My other problem is a lot of the cutscenes aren't pre-rendered...they're not machinimas they're in-game events type things. This makes them kind of lame...the camera angles are uninspiring and there's no lighting or special effects. It's like the lowest form of cutscene you can get away with.I think the perfect cutscene was the wrath gate. You do a quest and you're treated to a cinematic experience rather than the weak cutscenes we've had lately. I honestly think Blizz should hire an entire machinima department to make some truly epic cutscenes.
