As a bit of "politically correct" education... when a person (or dragon, as it may be) is transgendered it is proper to address with the identifying pronoun. In the case of Chromie she may be biologically male but identifies as female. This makes it proper to refer to her as "she," despite anatomy.
Just adding to the pit of confuzzlement. :)
