Playing a feral druid that was hybrid/feral spec'd, I've gotten nothing but derision. My dps was not high enough, despite clearing mobs at a decent pace, and even saving the group from wipes on more than one occasion thanks to a well-timed bear shift. The myopia of the typical WoW player cannot see the benefits of hybrid ferals, resulting in me retiring my druid. It became obvious to me that groups preferred to wipe rather than pull out whatever stops necessary to survive. If it's not done by the pre-prescribed perception of the encounter, then any group I was ever in would rather wipe and, in many cases, kick me or ragequit themselves. This is one of the many reasons I never pug and rarely group -- even within my guild. I found that even reasonable groups thought it best to wipe and start fresh with pure classes than spend even a second longer on combat due to a hybrid's presence. In my experience, WoW players typically don't embrace challenge. They embrace how the Tankspot video made the encounter look.
