Succesful ???It is not that you launch with 99 serveres that are full ... with 1500 people on line that you can speak of "success".The first week sales are in from distribution (see below link) and ... first week sales of Rift is ... 120.K copies.LOL, count the other 200K on line direct pre orders and the game has a pathetic low starting of 300K players.Talking about viral marketing at work.http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/49494/rift/Stats show the game's launch is appealing to 300K players.Grtz. But cut the success crap will you :)))Those Rift servers are simply far too small with 1.5 K caps.

That chart is *highly* suspect. Its probably based on the only indepedently valided numbers available at the time.Rift server limits were 1500 during the early beta, they're now 4000 since beta wave 7 (stress test wave). That's in the realm of WoW servers IIRC. During prime time hours, all rift servers are no lower than medium population; most are high or full still 3 weeks after early start. That's a good sign overall. So, worst case is 99 servers x 2000 = 198,000 sold copies, MINIMUM. My guess is that they've sold around 500,000 copies as people don't want to get burnt on another MMO (like AoC or Warhammer online). An MMO can succeed without selling 10 million copies. They can survive and succeed on their own terms. LOTRO continues to do well after the F2P model (they've actually *added* servers*). Aion is a significant success worldwide, although not as great in North America/Europe.Given your attitude to your guildmates listed below (e.g. guild kick for mentioning other MMOs) and your throwing a tantrum around another MMO's success, i'm kind of happy to know you won't be trying something different. We're more than happy to have Blood Legion, Vodka members etc forming the raid progression teams rift side. I suspect they know more about WoW, and Rift, than you ever will.

The time is so sad for WOW that even on OUR VERY fan sites we are being downgraded by the haters when we tell simple and true facts about this terrible pure and newest COPYCAT ...Listen dude; the Rift HEAD developper himslef stated clearly they TARGETED 1500 people per server in Dec 2010, a mere few weeks before launch.NEVER EVER can you cite those fake 4K per server you mention. You simply LIE about it..I show you the first week retail ,sales WITH link above and you say nanana not true.So the lead developper of Rift himself lies, the sales charts lie, the WOW fans lie.Get lost.Like I said I want to read about WOW here NOT ABOUT viral marketeers trying to destroy the GAME I LOVE TO PLAY FOR 5 years now.Capicse? I hate it . I simply HATE THIS ATTITUDE of pissing on my favorite game and game company.DID YOU READ THAT WOWINSIDER ??????????????????????????

@Bossy Rift server caps WERE 1500 online at once during launch. Read again "1500 online at once". They have since been raised.

No lie, it's people like you that ruin the image of WoW players. Hopefully, I never have to meet you in-game.

You start off by saying haters downgrade the posts, then follow-up with a hate filled rant, even saying it in CAPS.This is what confuses me... you can't point fingers and call others haters, while you spew hate. /fail

@bossy Your problem is that you see this as a black and white, good vs. evil situation. You can't imagine how someone could possibly like more than one MMO at once. This isn't Catholic vs. Muslim and gaming isn't religion. Game are there for entertainment, if someone finds RIFT, or any other MMO for that matter, as entertaining as WoW it doesn't make them an idiot or bad gamers. I love WoW and RIFT, astounding right? You do not represent the silent majority. You represent the bitter monority who can't wrap their head around what gaming is truly about. For your sake, I hope your bitter out look is limited to gaming.

Are you fucking serious 300,000 units and its not successful are you a moron? Even if that's all they ever keep that's still 5.4 million dollars a year can you say you've made that much? I didn't think so.
3-14-2011 @ 2:50PM
1.4 million at launch.15,000 per server peak.Numbers are from the wiki article someone previously posted, with reference. I would say that's pretty successful.
