I'm not entirely sure if anyone has already asked this at any point; most likely so, but as I haven't read an answer, I'd like to ask:Why exactly are we locked out of Wrath heroics once we hit 81? We are able to queue for random BC normals and heroics until well into the 70s. This morning, I wished to do a few Wrath heroics on my resto shaman, due to the fact that I am still rather an unconfident healer, and wanted to gain some more experience with "high end 'difficult' content" before approaching the much-maligned world of Cataclysm heroics. Yet I was unable to, and now am unsure whether I can just jump into Throne of the Tides or Blackrock Cavern without some more 80 heroic experience. Did Blizzard ever give a reason why we cannot access Wrath instances through the LFG after 81?If anyone HAS asked this recently, I do apologise, but I would like to know.

Also ... my ears are bleeding. I curse you all for your comments of horror, you made me so curious I hit the play button. Oh God, what has been heard cannot be unheard.

'...much-maligned world of Cataclysm heroics' should read '...much-maligned world of Cataclysm healing'. I was looking at the word heroic when I wrote it. Damn my brain.

Wait - Do you mean "locked out" as "can't queue for them in the Dungeon Finder" or "I've tried going into these instances on foot and a message appeared saying my level was too high"?

I was pretty worried about starting healing on my Shaman too. I didn't even start to consider it until I had a good gear set built up and was level 85, and even then I started by randoming into BRC and Throne of the Tides. It was really really easy. I didn't even have glyphs for resto (stupid me) and it was really easy. I think that starting with those would probably be fine for you.

I'm recently (trying) leveling my resto shammy using the dungeon finder which means a loop between Blackrock Caverns, Throne of the Tides and (gasp) the stonecore, and let me tell you that we still have the "infinite mana" phenomenom from Wrath, things probably won't get tricky untill heroics.Disclaimer: my shammy had a good assortement of ICC epics.

No one takes damage in normal, so go ahead and jump into BRC. I made it halfway through BRC on my DK, barely taking any damage, then I realized I was in my DPS gear. Switching to tank gear just meant I took no damage at all.

Even at 85 my priest has virtually infinite mana in regulars. Of course you still can't heal stupid, but you shouldn't have problems healing competent players through random regulars for healing practice.
