Search on UTube for a video series called Pre-WoW. It covers all of the story elements of WC3 ans the expac. It was very enlightening when i took a break back in BC and came back aware of why i was fighting the different bosses. I would not discount the books either, the Chronicles of war collection covers a good chunk of lore as well.
