Ultimately, we should have just let Illidan to destroy the Lich King..

I think the reason they stopped him was because Illidan wasn't just killing the Lich King, he was blowing up most of Icecrown as well and would've caused a global catastrophe... kind of like a cataclysm if you will. Huh.

@WARFACEI'd say that nature can take one for the team in that case. The Lich King is a global catastrophe in his own right. Blighting the lands, trying to extinguish all life, etc. I think the only reason they stopped Illidan is because 1.) Malfurion is a tree hugger and any time the wilds whine at him he has to do something about it. 2.) Malfurion was pissed at Illidan about Tyrande's "death" even though I don't see how he's at fault in any way...he doesn't control the undead. 3.) Maiev just wants to capture Illidan period, and if that means stopping him from doing what is essentially a good thing then she will.
