Patch 4.0.6 hotfixes for March 16

We've seen plenty of hotfixes for the patch 4.1 PTR, but it's been awhile since we've seen any hotfixes for patch 4.0.6. A new round of 4.0.6 hotfixes was released on the official WoW blog, with plenty of fixes to Blackwing Descent, including the following:
- Atramedes will no longer sometimes snap back to his starting location as he finishes casting Sonic Breath.
- Maloriak's Scorching Breath should no longer incorrectly share its damage among pets. To offset what would be increased damage per player as a result of this fix, the damage dealt by the ability has been reduced on heroic difficulty.
- The Omnotron Defense System encounter has had its health reduced by 15% on heroic difficulty, and the damage of Incineration Security Measure has been reduced.
-
General
- Using macros no longer halts or delays transports.
-

- Casting Holy Word: Chastise against bosses will cause damage, but no longer disorient them when they are immune to such effects.

- Magmaw overall damage and health was a little too high on all difficulties and has been reduced slightly. In addition, on Heroic difficulty, Nefarian will now prefer ranged targets when spawning Blazing Bone Constructs.
- Maloriak's Scorching Breath should no longer incorrectly share its damage among pets. To offset what would be increased damage per player as a result of this fix, the damage dealt by the ability has been reduced on Heroic difficulty.
- Players will move at the same speed, even when setting their normal speed to "walk" using the keybind, when Nefarian casts Dominion.
- The Omnotron Defense System encounter has had its health reduced by 15% on Heroic difficulty, and the damage of Incineration Security Measure has been reduced.

Bastion of Twilight

"Shandris Feathermoon can no longer be pulled too far from her default location before resetting (i.e. she won't be waging war from the Orgrimmar Auction House anymore)."
Why don't they just do this to all NPCs? I seem to remember a group kiting Omen from Moonglade to Org as well.

LOL, the idea of Shandris Feathermoon going berserk in Ogrimmar makes me LOL so hard. It's amazing what some people will try. ;)

Happened on Steamwheedle Cartel US the other night. I seem to recall her pretty much killing most of the Valley of Strength before she was finally put down. I'm still somewhat in awe that somebody managed to kite her all the way across the freaking *continent.*
Dementron Mar 16th 2011 11:21PM
Group? Back before Omen was leashed I used to kite him to Orgrimmar by myself. Took half an hour each run. I especially liked dragging him to the Valley of Honor, back when people returning from battlegrounds would always respawn there.
Boy, were they in for a surprise.
Aaaah, good times.

Many of us in Area 52 also died to her wrath in Orgrimmar before she went down. I did enjoyed the fun and change that it at least temporarily brought to the monotony of a capital. I wish it had been done more often.

But kiting the Fel Reaver to Shatt is just so much FUN....

@Sam
"I ask why they don't include other realistic elements like rape. There's torture, robbery, murder, slavery...hey, why not?"
Murder - exactly what game have you been playing? WoW is ALL abiout mudering people.
Torture - There are several torture related quests in the game
Robbery - again, many quests where we've been asked to steal something from an npc's tent
Slavery - Did you actually see all those Peons when you were in TBC?
Sorry, what was your point again?

The best were always the Devilsaurs in the Crossroads during Vanilla.
fallemwarrior Mar 17th 2011 9:03AM
:) summoning doomguards in crossroads and watching new players attack it and get one shot lol

Because long kites make for great videos.

Some guildies did this on Malorne last week. I had not idea what was going on when I logged in. There were corpses everywhere and I didn't get it, since she wasn't hitting very hard. I joined in on the fun and it was all going well until she did her aoe starfall thing. Sure, she doesn't melee very hard, but that spell killed damn near everybody within 30 yards (including Garrosh). It was hilarious.

That Feathermoon bug would have been interesting to watch.

After dusting off my leatherworker for the first time since Cata dropped, I'm wondering if those insensitive buggers will be renaming the Tsunami set anytime soon.
I was going to link to the controversy over Disney's "Johnny Tsunami", but it looks like someone dumped some Drano down the Intertubes and made that problem disappear.
Kyle Mar 16th 2011 11:11PM
Why on earth would they rename it?
Yes, the tsunami that hit Japan was a horrible disaster, but its not like it was the first of its kind (there was the one in 2004, for a recent example). If you rename it, might as well change the names of Darkmoon Card: Earthquake (the earthquake that caused said tsunami), Darkmoon Card: Hurricane (Hurricane Katrina), Darkmoon Card: Volcano (Mount Vesuvius taking out Pompeii, or other volcanos that cause destruction elsewhere that I can't recall), and lord knows what else.
There's being PC, and then there's overkill.
SamLowry Mar 16th 2011 11:24PM
It was the 2004 tsunami that got Disney in such hot water, because, IIRC, they scheduled a repeat of "Johnny Tsunami" during the weekend that tsunami hit. They had to eat so much crow for running it anyway that they announced they would be renaming the series.
Kyle Mar 16th 2011 11:27PM
Still, renaming it is overkill. As I pointed out, if you renamed the Tsunami armor due to this, might as well go all the way and rename everything else that even has a vague connection to some tragedy.
Hell, might as well reduce players to indistinct gray boxes that can't move. Rename it "Game the Game." Can't offend anybody that way.

This just in...the estate of the late J.R.R. Tolkein has decided to rename the second book of the Fellowship of the Ring trilogy to "This building, and that building waaay over there," as a measure of sensitivity following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
