The Queue: This is the best Queue in the world
Whereas on Tuesday I wrote the worst Queue in the world, today, my dear readers, I present the best. Why? Because of the two -- count 'em, two -- awesome machinimas featured.
The first one, above, is Baron Soosdon's This Device Has Been Modified. It was really the first machinima in WoW that I went, "Holy crap, that's great."
After the break, we we have the second featured machinima, making this Queue so full of awesome you'll be BLINDED.
Neothanos asked:
I've been seeing a lot of posts on the Blizz forums of guild imploding over the Cataclysm changes. Did Cataclysm cater too much to the very vocal very active hardcore crowd?
As was mentioned in the comments, the observations about Cataclysm are entirely subjective. One thing that we can say with relative certainty is that each expansion always causes feelings like it's the end of the world for guilds -- and then it turns out it's really not. BC was supposed to destroy WoW because 40-mans were gone, and Wrath was supposed to destroy WoW because no one would want to run 25-mans because there were 10-mans of everything. And now Cataclysm is causing problems.
But at the end of the day? Everything is normal. Guilds go through the most drama when there's change, but that's not a function of WoW. That's a function of humanity.
Marzim asked:
If a person leaves a guild will they start at 0 rep when joining another guild?
Yes, they'll start over at zero. Once you leave a guild and join another, your reputation is cleared. According to some people in the comments that have tried this, Blizzard doesn't automatically clear your reputation forever when just first leave the guild and haven't joined another, so you can rejoin right away if need be and not be penalized.
Cutaia asked:
Recently, I was waiting at the bus stop when suddenly I saw my friends. The problem is, there were people in the front seat and people in the back seat. Are there any theorycrafting resources which can help me determine which seat I should take?
You know that Family Guy episode where Peter sings about the bird being the word, and at one point Brian asks him what he's talking about, and Stewie goes "Brian, don't!"?
That's what everyone just yelled to you.
But back to your question: I believe Rebecca Black has some answers for you. At the end of the day, you'll want to sit in the back seat so you can sit up on it and let your hair wave in the wind. Just be sure to buckle up.
I hope this answer has both been informative and mind-numbing.
Frank asked:
Has Blizz ever talked about updating Wintergrasp so that it's relevant (or at least balanced) again? It was my favorite BG.
It hasn't, and unless it does something in some expansion in the future so that Northrend is central to the story again, I highly doubt Blizzard will put the time into it. It would be nice to see again, don't get me wrong -- but just don't expect it.
And finally, here it is folks: This Queue is now the best Queue in the world.

Then my work here is done.

Can I just say one drunken night I was on wow and wanted to give this a try so I left the guild and then got one of my fellow officers to reinvite me. I did not reset to 0 with the guild. This only resets when you join another guild.
omnibishop Mar 17th 2011 11:13AM
It will reset if you are non-guilded after 10 days though. But it will automatically reset if you leave your current guild and join a different guild, regardless of time.
Dave Mar 17th 2011 11:48AM
I have been unguilded for 10 days and after rejoining, I did not loose my rep with my guild.

How does the population of Azeroth feel towards DKs now thar Arthas is dead? It is hard to forget the spitting and rotten fruit being flung at me in org considering us DKs killed so many family members...are we still tolerated or accepted...any lore on that?
Cyrus Mar 17th 2011 1:36PM
The population of Azeroth doesn't know Arthas is dead. Remember the cutscene when you kill him. As far as the average civilian knows, the Alliance/Horde hurt him a lot in Northrend and forced him to lighten his grip northern Lordaeron, but Arthas is still up there biding his time and may unleash his undead legions at any time. We know that's not going to happen (unless the Helm of Domination corrupts Bolvar and we get a Wrath of the New Lich King expansion), but no NPCs know that, except for probably the very most senior leaders of Dalaran, the Argent Crusade, the Alliance and the Horde.
Hope this doesn't double post. Having problems with the Web site. As always...
N-train Mar 17th 2011 3:16PM
@ Cyrus
That isn't right. Bolvar says "I must be forgotten if people must be allowed to live free of fear. Tell them only that the Lich King is dead, and that Bolvar Fordragon died with him".
That's not the exact quote, but its the gist of it.
Everyone knows that Arthas is dead, what they don't know is that Bolvar took his place.
As for DKs in Cata, soldiers under their respective DKs in Anderhol don't seem to have any complaints, and I figure DKs are to their respective factions what the undead are to the rest of the Horde. You may not like them, in fact you may despise them, but in the end they're fighting and dying and doing your dirty work like everyone else.
Hal Mar 17th 2011 11:10AM
Are there Ogre ladies? I'm not sure I've ever seen one in-game.
MattKrotzer Mar 17th 2011 11:11AM
Ogres are asexual beings who multiply by mitosis. This is why you frequently see 2-headed ogres.
Drakkenfyre Mar 17th 2011 11:19AM
In case he isn't just joking, going to have to disagree with him here.
Female Ogres are seen in artwork, but never in-game. In fact, when news of the Worgen, and Goblin masks being put in-game hinted at the new races, Blizzard responded by putting a crapload more masks in the game, trying to distract from those two. Of the new masks added, one was a female Ogre.
However, it was simply a cut and paste from the earlier Ogre artworks.
Two-headed ogres are, supposedly, the result of people stitching an additional head to the body to enable the Ogre to have the intelligence to cast spells.
Nina Katarina Mar 17th 2011 11:20AM
There's a jewelcrafting daily called Ogrezonians in the Mood which mentions female ogres:
"I was supposed to receive a shipment of jasper from Azeroth Express, but I just heard their ship crashed into some tiny island called Ogrezonia. I worry about the crew, as the giant female ogres on the island are rumored to perform horrible rituals on men who happen upon their island. My work must go on, though, and we need those gems. I've heard great things about your skill as a jewelcrafter - could you deliver three jagged jaspers by the end of the day?"

If Ogrezonia featured key raid and dungeon content, even a daily hub, would go there? If the horrible rituals were called "Snoo Snoo" would you STILL go there?
Mummrah Mar 17th 2011 7:09PM
Female Ogres = snooki
horrible rituals = smush smush
BigDumbFace Mar 18th 2011 2:18AM
The female ogres in the Warcraft universe are.... less than appealing. It's actually been stated by devs in the past that the females of the specious were simply too horrible to look at and, at the time, they wanted to avoid putting in the models given the aesthetic at the time.
Why they haven't come in since... that I can't answer.
