If your friends are really, truly your friends, they will not care if you do something they think is "uncool." They will still be your friends, though they may give you a gentle ribbing about it from time to time. This is because they will like you for who you are. If they're really, *really* good friends, they'll even try it to see what you find so interesting, but that might be asking a little much of so-called 'normal people.' ;-)
In short, if somebody stops being your friend because of something stupid like you like to play WoW, they are stupid and you're lucky to be rid of them.
