My, you must be a highly impressive tank if you can go directly from dinging 85 to entering heroics. This article seems to completely ignore what gear you need just to tank regular dungeons, which is where my retadin has been stuck ever since dinging 85. Heroics are apparently something casuals only get to visit during the mature phase of an expansion, and actually entering a raid, if only to do the weekly, is something that comes at the very end, right before the next expansion drops, if the history of Wrath is an indicator.Bitter, I? What would make you think that? Just because I appear to be the only member of my guild who hasn't suspended his account until the game gets easier to play?

It is quite possible to get into heroics right after dinging 85. Just about all of the useful quest rewards from late Uldum and Twilight Highlands will get you geared up in ~333 and one might also have some JP saved to buy a piece or two upon dinging. With craftable gear available as well, heroics are just a small jump away from that last ding of this xpac... by ilvl of course. Difficulty and knowledge and awareness not included.

Check out the Hardened Obsidium gear that Blacksmiths can make. The whole set isn't super expensive, and combined with a couple of quest rewards it'll be basically all you need to run regular dungeons.
