We don't know the official name of the mount (although datamining points to its being called a Winged Lion, which would make sense), the price, or any other details.
Stay tuned here at WoW Insider. We'll get you any other information we have on this mount as it comes in.

As someone who quit in the past before eventually coming back, I'd like to answer that, Draev.
Sometimes its interesting to read what's going on. Sometimes its for the sense of community with WoW Insider.
That's why I kept coming during my hiatus. I couldn't rule out coming back, but I wasn't planning on it either
I always thought it was interesting when I said I **didn't** like something (like: "That won't make me want to come back"), I got a lot of "STFU TROLL" style comments.
When I said I thought something sounded like a good idea and a step in the right direction to bring me back, people didn't trash me.
So I'm inclined to think the attitude towards former WoW-players is wildly inconsistent.

I LIKED playing WoW ...
I played for a LONG time. Cataclysm killed it for me. I'm not buying gold - nor am I going to grind because everything is at least 7k gear wise so you can go to any of the dungeons.
Believe me, when my best in-game friend quit - (also after Cata) I was upset, I couldn't see why he left .... the more I got into the expansion, I could see why he got pissed off and left.
Will I come back? I don't know ... you don't put all those hours into something and not have some connection. but it's going to take more than something I have to BUY outside the game to do it.

@ Amaxe - thanks for the comments. When I first quit WoW back in 2006, I stayed away completely for most of a year; it was only curiosity about BC and the general look of the blood elf stuff that brought me back. And my best friend was playing, which helped. But it's interesting to see how people react to someone who says they don't play anymore - it seems to be all about how they present themselves.
Speaking of which:
@ brandie: do you really think you're going to change anyone's mind by talking about why you quit? Honestly, people can make that decision on their own, and your baseless accusations about Blizzard making it so you need to buy gold aren't winning you any points. And if you can't make gold in Cataclysm, you're simply not trying. I quested a character from 83 to 84 this weekend, sold a half-dozen stacks of herbs, and thus made over 1000 gold with hardly any real effort and no grinding. If the game's not fun for you, then don't play, but coming in here and acting like the victim just makes you look bad. And for all that you say Blizzard has made the game unplayable, there's roughly 12 million people who seem to be doing just fine. And I don't think there's a chance they're *all* buying gold.

You obviously played the game very differently to me then, as I found I was ready to enter heroic dungeons as soon as I hit level 85, just via quest rewards and items from the dungeons I run. I didn't spend anything at all on gear (unless you count Justice and Valor points). Once I started raiding I spent some money on gear, but that was just because I'm pretty new in the guild so I get gear last(ish).

Brandie...at the risk of feeding the trolls, if you are soooooooo upset that you "left" WoW, why are you posting ON A FORUM ABOUT WOW???
You never really left then, did you? You may not play the game, but you're clearly suffering withdrawals or you wouldn't be here ON A WOW FORUM.
Go to the forum of the new game that you love so much that you "left" WoW for, or STFU.

The problem I have isn't those that read the site to see if anything has changed. Thats all fine and well. If it causes you to come back, that is awesome. If it doesn't thats also cool. The problem is when these "Quitters" read these sites and after "quitting" post negative comments bashing or trying to force others to see their point of view. There's no justification for that kind of negativity.
You say you like the community? That is something I understand well. A friend I made through WoW, quit the game aspect of WoW but keeps subbing just to keep pace and chat in gchat every now and again. I took a break or rather quit during the first half of WotLK due to burnout but I read up on things like you do. I posted my thoughts about things, but in a clear and positive way. When something came out that made me miss the game enough i came back.
Anyways the point I was making was aimed at brandie. All negative thoughts in the posts and I hate having to shovel past useless posts to find the constructive or entertaining ones.

Sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like *YOU* were inconsistent. I was just trying to speak in a general sense on my own experience and my own frustrations in that time.

This actually looks like it could be a good mount. Don't know if I'd actually pay for a mount, but if I were going to, this might be the one. I'll have to wait until I see some animations.

Animations and sound effects. I like my sparkle pony, but it bothers so much to listen to horrible (horrible!) flapping sound I had to download an addon of sorts to shut it up.

It's very pretty. I love the golden glowing edges on the wings. I thought the Sparkle Horse was pretty when it came out, too, though. Now I rarely ride it.
Also, is it possible that part of the proceeds are going to the tsunami victims in Japan?
