I'm shocked the burnout is happening so soon, but it hit us recently, too, just a bit backwards. We lost a DPS to the real world without any warning, and had another replaced by another character's undergeared alt by one of the raid managers for no conceivable reason. Then that same raid manager, a healer, dropped one week, then another who opted to bring his lesser-geared pally healer who may have stopped showing up even on that character. They claimed our progression wasn't up to their standards and that they felt like they were carrying the rest of us, which broke our RL's heart a little - we set up the raid the way we did specifically to raid with people we like instead of dealing with pugs every week, and it sucked just a bit to discover they had different priorities. The thing I don't understand is, we weren't lagging at all - 3 or 4 weeks into Cata raid content we were 8/12 and making good progress and, I think most importantly, hanging out with good people and having a whole lot of fun while we were doing it. Raid night's coming up, and I'll be there, but it's going to be sad to have to start going down the, "*sigh. okay. we need to pug how many people, again?" route that plagued the end of WotLK.
