In a roundabout way, let's explain Star Wars lore according to George Lucas.

Movie > Books > Radio plays > Whatever else.

If one in the previous line trumps the next, it's canon.

If something is contridicted in the radio plays by one of the (trilogy, not EU) books, then it's official canon. If the movie contridicts something in one of the books, then it's official.

So, in that same way, I don't know if Blizzard has a tree, but it could go like this,

Game > Books > Comic books > RPG board game.
