Breakfast Topic: Which Cataclysm heroic do you dread seeing on your loading screen?

Since every instance in Cataclysm has its own load screen, players know where they are going before they ever set foot in the instance. Some instances are harder than others. Some have awful trash. Some have boss fights that require lots of moving, and some have tons of ambient group damage. Depending on your role, which instance you want to see come up as your random probably changes. Some have that one piece of gear you need or that achievement you really would love to get; others make you feel disheartened as soon as the loading screen pops up.
I currently have two 85s; my main is a tank, and my alt is a hunter. While tanking anything but Stonecore, I am fairly happy. I hate the initial few pulls in Stonecore with Milhouse Manastorm and those damn guys that turn into rock elementals and have that disgusting AoE so much, and the trash pulls with the sentries later on also suck. My tank just runs the one heroic a day for the points so I can get my last piece of tier for feral and start picking up some of the moonkin off-spec pieces, so if I get Vortex Pinnacle every day and just blow through it, all the better.
On the other hand, with my hunter, every time I see The Deadmines I am actually happy. I still need the axe and bracers. Also, my hunter hasn't been 85 very long, so justice points are still useful to me.
What heroics do you hate to see pop up? What makes you hate this particular instance? Which are you actually happy to see?

Halls of Origination... is SO LONG.

Only if you do all the bosses. Skipping right to Raj actually makes it pretty quick. Now finding a cooperating tank is another issue...

I don't really find it long, though must admit I tend to skip all optional bosses when I'm with a guild group (which is nearly every time).

I actually don't mind it. More bosses=more JP (even though I don't need it anymore, I can get more heirlooms) and more bosses=more rep (which I still need some).

With random PuGs, the first boss is ALWAYS a problem. Once we get past that, though, the place always goes smoothly.

I still want things that drop from those bosses!

No lie, Halls of Origination was my daily random heroic TEN DAYS IN A ROW ON TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERS! I can dps or heal that thing in my sleep.

Just did this last night with some guildies for our random heroic, and it actually wasn't too bad. Considering it was only my 2nd heroic I've ever tanked, it was nice to get a lot of practice in. Only a couple wipes, and it probably took as long as it did in the beginning for newly heroic-ready tanks a few months ago.

Grimbatol!

A million times this. It's long, boring, unforgiving in a PuG and makes you do that tedious drake thing every single time.
Remember that feeling when you would get Oculus pop up as your random, or when it was the daily dungeon? That's how the Grim Batol loading screen makes me feel.
edgeblade Mar 22nd 2011 8:23AM
/agree as well. GB is ridiculously difficult compared to the others.
Peli Mar 22nd 2011 9:04AM
I disagree. At least as a (reasonably geared) tank (ilvl 350), it's not a difficult instance at all. I generally chain pull and most of the PUGs I've been a part of know what to do on the bombing run and we can usually burn down the trash quickly. For the most part, the bosses are a cakewalk as long as you have someone to CC the purple trogg and DPS that have 2 working synapses to know to avoid Erudax's shadow gale and dps down the adds.

I had such a bad experience in the first couple PUG runs of GB that I now cringe when I see its loading screen. Let me tell you, it's pretty hard for a healer with very little gear grouping with a tank and dps with very little gear.
Most of those runs ended at the second to last boss (can't remember his name) with his dragon and burning from the inside out, all that after nearly an hour and a half.

I dread every time this one pops up, only because it seems to come up so often. There are other heroics I hardly ever see that I actually need loot from still.

This, out of five 85s who I run the daily on most of the time, I'll get GB at least 3 of the times every day.
vocenoctum Mar 22nd 2011 11:55AM
I like Grim Batol on regular, on heroic it's a bit brutal.
What gets me is always the tank that marks some barely alive guy for Sheep, when it heals them to full again, rather than sheeping someone near full health. Yeah, X may be more dangerous or whatnot, but he's at 10% health!
And the next to last boss on heroic is a pain. Wiped 4 times last group then we just skipped him.
TheBigFatMuffinMan Mar 22nd 2011 12:16PM
I hate Grim Batol when tanking, but don't mind it so much when I'm DPSing. Place still has a depressing atmosphere, though.
