Alright, I have to admit, based on this discussion, I dumped all my hit and exp for mastery for the guild instance night tonight, and I definitely felt a survivability difference. The thing that made me say "OH YA!!... I should try that!" was that DS's (I'm pretty sure) runes aren't consumed on a miss. Also, the now baked in spell hit had me at 0% miss for spells in everything but raids, so I'm a believer now.

So I can play to the now... But I will not be surprised if they make us need hit again, and I'd be ready to adapt.
