Hit is such an annoying and non-fun stat. Balancing the math, constantly reforging with every new piece to achieve that nearly perfect capped-but-not-too-high-over-the-cap number, being all responsible and taking away from fun stats like crit to be certain you, hero of Azeroth, aren't going to miss...I'm just not sure I understand the value of the stat at all, I mean, why it's even there. Perhaps in a world where hit was a DPS-spec-only stat to improve the DPS of non-healing or non-tanking specs, but now even healers are meant to DPS at times. So I feel the need to use a major glyph just to make sure my Smites land...but then that doesn't mean my Holy Fires will, and that sucks, because I definitely chanced a global cooldown for that fiery pew pew that could have been a heal.
I admit that my knowledge of the math of stats is poor, and that I don't know the whole history of hit, but it's been bothering me for awhile. I'd love it if they just went and gave it to everyone for free so we could work on other fine-tunings of our personal numbers. So that I don't have to feel like I have so many wasted points of numbers in my gear every time I'm flinging fire at anything that isn't a raid boss.
I mean, Blizzard's done a great job getting rid of lots of "boring" previously "mandatory" talents...and if something's MANDATORY, why leave it up to something a player must consciously and constantly tweak to feel like one is getting the most out of her gear?
