After looking at Code Monkey at the end of last week, we were swarmed with suggestions for another classic Spiffworld video. In this careful review of corporate life, Spiffworld uses JoCo lyrics to set up a thoughtful metaphor about the struggle to retain individuality in the face of an impersonal workforce. Also, zombies.
Re: Your Brains is actually my favorite JoCo song, and Spiffworld does a fine job of it. Even if these early graphics were somewhat unpolished, they are tone-perfect to the music. It's easy to see why Re: Your Brains is a long-time fan favorite. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! JoCo is, by far, my favourite artist of the current generation.
Seriously, who else could rhyme social anxiety and bottle of chablis? ...or ask, "Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?"?
Many of my guild never caught the reference. Especially when, after seeing the alert for someone earning that achievement, I comment "What, you didn't like the half-pony half-monkey monster?"
I had never heard this song before and now I can't get it out of my head. I love it!! The lyrics are clever and it had me giggling. Great work! Now I'm going to have to look into more of these... I had never heard of Jonathan Coulton at all before seeing this.
Spiffworld never fails to bring a smile--he has always done great work, and I am eagerly awaiting the day he puts out another machinima. Spiffworld is awesome.

Maybe he used too many monkeys.

By far my favorite JoCo song, but I wasn't a fan of this vid like I am with Code Monkey. It's not bad, but I think it shows it's age a lot more.

Yeah, I think the machinimas for Skullcrusher Mountain and First of May (my eyes!) are far better, even though I love the song.

This was one of the very first WoW machinima I ever saw, possibly even before I started playing.
Still good.

You gotta love Jonathan Coulton!

Great song, classic video! A combination as mind-boggling as chocolate and peanut butter.
Which, actually I hate - but everyone else loves it so you get the idea ^_^
