The truth is probably a mix between Lisa's and Robin's answers. I have never seen this type of situation be entierly one person's fault.

In my experiance, there has never ever been a situation where 'it wasn't my fault, it was everyone else's!' has been an entirely accurate statement. Especially in a case like this guy that reeks of arrogence (I got them progressed through this, I told the raid lead how to do that).
