When Cataclysm launched, there were several rare spawn elite mobs like
Garr and
Poseidus that had a chance to drop loot on par with that from a heroic if killed by a 5-man group -- though you're likely to need more than five people to kill them. In patch 4.1, these rare spawn elites will be
dropping upgraded loot, making them more attractive to 5-man groups.
In addition to all that, there are several randomly itemized epics in the files, such as the
Mistral Pendant and the
Cloudburst Cloak. We don't know where they come from yet, but they are similar in name to the random enchant epics from the Throne of the Four Winds.
WoW Patch 4.1 is on the PTR and WoW Insider has all the latest news for you -- from previews of the revamped Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub to new valor point mechanics and new archaeology items.

Blizzard has called them 5 man world bosses, but I'd consider them to be 10 man raid bosses. They have more hp than many 10 man regular bosses at 30 million hp and their mechanics practically call for more than 5 people. All this change will do is ensure that these bosses have loot that is worth forming a 10 man for.

Your Poseidus link leads to the Mobus page. Mobus (the whale shark) is the 5-man Vashj'ir rare elite/rare boss, however you want to look at it, that requires a group to kill.
Poseidus is just a rare seahorse who, until now, dropped nothing but gold. There was a time in beta when it dropped a mount, but the mount could not be learned if you had the seahorse from natural quest progression.

It is mainly agi gear and I think this is because they are trying to make up for the fact that hunters and enhance shammies get no drops from trash in any raids and they also get no drops from archaeology.

And the hunter community let out a cheer! There's been exactly one staff for us at the current content, and Halfus hasn't dropped it for 8 weeks for my guild.

Dear wowinsider, there's this website called wowhead.com, and when you link to items there, you can see the item just by mousing over it! Amazing isn't it? Maybe you should try that?

Dear Evets,
Go click on a link for any of the new drops (like the Mobus polearm) and look at the link on Wowhead. Currently, some of the links are not displaying properly. So I linked to the mmo-c links that ARE displaying properly when clicked on.
Amazing how ten seconds of your time would have saved you from looking like a complete ass.

Dear Blizz thanks for more belt drops..... not....
If i had a nickle for everytime a belt has dropped and been de'd cause any raider whose a real raider already has the crafted one that now go for pocket change on most servers...
And once again mail/leather healers get left out in the cold.... How about a little love for shammans and druids? I ask you one epic leather int bracer in current content? 5 belts?

My old guild killed Julak-Doom and I got the dagger. Anyone know if it will convert to the epic version when the patch comes out?
