If you asked me to boil down a single thing that really excited me about being Gilnean, I would have to answer: Gilnean Like Me by Gnomechewer. We've featured this video before, of course, but I felt like it was time for a rerun.
We see a lot of Horde anthems around here. But it's relatively rare a video comes along that captures the zeitgeist of the Gilnean experience and really gets you pumped to wolf out. Gilnean Like Me feels like it answers every Horde anthem without trying. It's less a battle song than chants about how awesome Gilneans are. It bites into the experience with tooth and claw -- just like a Gilnean damn well should. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Now if the in-game worgen hadn't been made so goofy looking. Don't get me wrong, I like the male worgen model-- when he isn't moving. But his walk/run animation is a lumbering, swaying, ungraceful gait that would be better suited to a drunk Frankenstein's Monster than a lycanthrope. And Running Wild's fault is that there's no sense of momentum, so it tends to resemble a frog hopping from spot to spot (at least pre-lvl 40) rather than a rushing, dangerous beast.
Not saying they should've gone with the NPC model, just that they failed to capture the essence of what a Worgen should've been.
Tails are an essential counterbalance for a digigrade race. The lack of one forces the race in question to lean dramatically forward; leading to a lumbering, weight-throwing, ungraceful walk.
Proof? -Tauren have tails, and stand much more upright than Worgen do, although the males suffer from the disease known as "Hordeslouch". -Draenei have massive tails and stand even more upright than Tauren, without a trace of Hordeslouch.
This is probably one of the best machinima's I've seen. I haven't watched a lot of them so not a big sample size. It go me very excited to play a worgen. Just wish playing one lived up to the video. I can only equate it to baseball when a player almost hits a home run. Just misses the ball by a fraction. Ends up being a really long pop fly. :/
This is right up there vying for #1 favorite for me. I'd kill to see it done with updated models (male only, alas). I love this song and I LOVE what Gnomechewer did with it. The effects add to it overall, rather than distracting, which is pretty brilliant. :)
Now if those of us who play Gilneans could just have a few more moments like this, on behalf of our homeland, I'd be a happy gal. ;)
I love this video, it's still one of my favorite Machinimas. I wish Gnomechewer would go back and revisit it now that the official worgen models are out and the Gilneans have their finished appearances (Like Genn and Crowley) but even as it is, it's a lot of fun.
is there a place where I can view the storyline videos?? like the one of the guy with the eye-patch (crowley i think) gets shot with the arrow and cleaves thru undead??
Too bad Blizz couldn't make Gilneas and the Worgen as cool as this video makes them out to be. Still disappointed about Worgen being so boring, and having to read the comics just to get the whole story, while the Goblin starting area is an entire story that doesn't force us to pay more money just to know what's going on.
Also, why does Crowley sound like a mentally disabled drunk?
@Dreyja. What are you talking about? Crowley sounds like a mentally disabled drunk because you didn't know what his model looked like? I'm a bit confused.

One of the best 'Oh shit' moments orchestrated in WoW machinima - and on a guy with no chin to boot.

Victory for Sylvanas.
We could have probably just offered them a rawhide chewie in exchange for their land and saved a lot of trouble.
Arturis Mar 25th 2011 1:36PM
In Gilneas, "rawhide chewies" are known as "Forsaken".

This was before Crowly's model was really known. We all thought Liam was Crowly for a while.
