Here is why hunters are no problem for a good frost mage:You know how if a mage goes against a rogue, a warrior, a death knight, a ret pally, that they try to stay out of melee and kite them? Makes sense right? As a mage, you are a squishy clothie, and try at all cost to keep yourself out of melee range. Now, what is the hunter's biggest weakness? Why, yes, yes it is melee. And the effect you get from kiting warriors, et al, you can get that same effect by actually going IN to melee on a hunter. In fact, being IN melee allows you to use frost nova more effectively, and if you are good at circle strafing, you can run circles around a hunter, while in melee range, absolutely ripping his face off. It feels counter-intuitive, but when playing a hunter, you don't blink away, you blink right into that hunter's grill.Nothing more a hunter hates is someone right up in their face melting it off, they have a few things they can do in melee, but with all the freezes and slows we have as frost, a good frost mage can keep themselves within melee range and blow a hunter away.
