Daveterrell asked:
I was rumbling around Stormwind Castle and came upon an NPC that allows you to pay 10 gold to stop earning experience. What's up with that?
That NPC's function is usually utilized by PvPers who want to stay in a certain battleground level bracket. By turning experience gain off, they can prevent accidentally leveling up from honorable kills or turning in quests.
Dannyboy asked:
With the New Heroic instances of Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman on the horizon is there any chance we will be seeing a normal version of these two?
Unfortunately, no. Blizzard recently stated that they would've liked to have low-level versions of the instances in question, but there was no good place to add them in the 1-60 bracket.
Shinanji asked:
I don't raid or do dungeon runs very often coz of the jerks I've had to deal with using the LFG/LFD utilities. Don't know if this has actually been asked before, but my question is this:
Is there anyway non-raiders, such as myself, can get comparable gear to normal/heroic gear without grouping?
I've mentioned this before, I don't get opportunities very often to get into good groups, due to kicking coz of my, formerly Gearscore, now it average iLevel, which is at 307 currently. Most of the gear I've found in the AH is PvP gear, which I have gotten to PvP, but I'm looking at getting better PVE gear.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you don't want to run group content, what do you need better gear for? If you're not doing instances, heroics, or raids, then you only need gear that lets you kill quest mobs, which is provided in spades through quests, reputations, or the auction house. Try Tol Barad dailies for your faction's rewards, which are ilvl 346, and make sure to do the daily quests for the various Cataclysm reputations, some of which reward items up to ilvl 359.
Elzogo asked:
Why haven't more raid groups downed Conclave of Wind? My raid group has only downed Magmaw twice and the Defense System once, so we're not the most talented or hardcore group out there but we found Conclave to be one of the easiest fights so far.
I can't speak for every raider, but Conclave of Wind is a fight that requires a level of coordination that lots of raid groups just don't have. A good raid leader can get a group through it no problem, but not every raid leader is a good one. Another aspect of Conclave that makes it less appealing for fledgling raiders is the highly random loot. I don't think I'm the only person who dislikes having an epic with "of the ______" in its name.

Question for the Que:
Why is it that ALL eye patches in the game are Leather? That means that all the cloth classes are forever bared from dressing up with cool eye patches. :(
Rylka Mar 26th 2011 12:04PM
*barred
blancester Mar 26th 2011 12:07PM
You got ye selfs some top hats.
MusedMoose Mar 26th 2011 12:11PM
Seconded. As much as a metal eyepatch would chafe, it kind of sucks that there's nothing but leather.
Rylka Mar 26th 2011 12:16PM
It is true clothies can wear monocles since all monocles are either classified as cloth or as misc., but if I want a cool eye patch for playing pirate, or Frankie from "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow", or something similar, no clothie can ever wear one.
I do not even need stats, I just want a cloth eye patch that everyone can wear.
If Blizzard can overlook the glass and metal components to classify a monocle as cloth, I think they can pretend that eyepatches are not leather too.
While we are at it, how about a blindfold for "blind" archer characters or Illidan types, but most of all I want a cloth eye patch. :)
Riari Mar 26th 2011 12:24PM
@blancester
That you can't make in game yet. The mats are in but not the recipe. So the only way that I know you can get a top hat is through the worgen starting area.
Succulent Mar 26th 2011 12:35PM
Well it's not cloth but the next hunter pvp tier gets a freakin laser eye.
A laser eye! They're like terminators! That's basically an upgraded eye patch.
Task Mar 26th 2011 12:45PM
Eye patches are awesome for a very important reason:
Nick Fury.
Thank you.
Darias.Perenolde Mar 26th 2011 12:50PM
Anyone know if you race change after you get your top hat...do you get to keep it?
Hob Mar 26th 2011 1:27PM
Frankie from "Sky Captain" was *clearly* not a cloth wearer. I'd say engineering rogue, most likely.
Zanv Mar 26th 2011 1:27PM
not eay to get - but http://www.wowhead.com/item=32235/cursed-vision-of-sargeras (blind fold)
Naavi Mar 26th 2011 1:38PM
There is a mail eyepatch actually, look up Malefactor's Eyepatch.
Eldoron Mar 26th 2011 1:40PM
Jeez.. they are all leather because in WoW eyepatches are mostly rogue-ish stuff (save for pirates), hence they all come in leather.
Skarn Mar 26th 2011 1:57PM
Zanv,
That's still leather. Thus a mage, warlock or priest can NEVER wear it. Poor clothies. :(
Skarn Mar 26th 2011 1:59PM
Naavi: Irrelevant to the question. Cloth wearers can't use mail any better than leather. If a mage, warlock or priest wants an eye-patch for RP purposes or forum icon looks or whatever, they can't get one.
Marbles Mar 26th 2011 2:18PM
Closest thing to a Cloth eyepatch is a rare drop from a rare spawn, so no exactly common:
http://www.wowhead.com/item=31220
It's technically a monocle with straps, but since the lens is opaque, it'd work as a patch.
Of course, it's a bright pink patch...
ninjivitis Mar 26th 2011 2:24PM
You corrected 'barred' but not 'queue'?
It would also be cool if there was a cloth demon hunter mask like the leather one that drops in black temple.
Rylka Mar 26th 2011 3:25PM
@ ninjivitis - Yeah I noticed the misspelling of 'queue' later, but decided not to extend the thread any more with more of my own posts to correct my misspellings believing (rightly so) that someone else would point it out for us.
Although, translating it from Spanish works a little bit too, "Question for the 'What?' " or "Question for the 'Why?' " depending on how you look at it, as in "Question for those who can tell us WHY there are no cloth RP eye patches or blindfolds", or "A question for those that can tell us WHAT is the reasoning behind excluding 30% of the classes from these items." :)
Rylka Mar 26th 2011 3:32PM
@ Hob - I completely agree about Frankie not being a clothie :) , but man do I want that look for my female gnome warlock. The look of a female gnome dressed to kill in black with a black eye patch and two pistols in a machinima a while back almost had me rerolling as a rogue just so I could get the look, but I love my warlock too much.
RetPallyJil Mar 26th 2011 5:10PM
I'm a fan of the eyepatch look myself.
