If only my warlock raided with a shadow priest. You didn't touch on one point that was brought up at the MMO Champion thread - when it is appropriate for the 'warlock circle jerk' (dark intenting only other warlocks). One thing even they don't touch on is whether it is appropriate for two warlocks to dark intent the same target (e.g. 2 warlocks, one shadow priest, and I dunno, all the other DPS are DKs for argument's sake)Other than that, definitely some food for thought in this column. Though in raids I never see people fighting over who gets dark intent, it annoys me when I'm in a heroic with noone good to dark intent (it's totally appropriate to just DI whoever gives me the most benefit when it's just a heroic, right?)

To the best of my knowledge, I don't believe the receiving end of DI stacks with its giving end (as per warlock circle-jerk) so the answer is pretty much, never. Never is it appropriate to DI other warlocks because you're only getting half the effect. And yes the receiving end DOES stack, so it can be placed by 2+ warlocks on one target. The reason why the Mage FM circles work is because they are one-way, yes the procs work retroactively for the mages, but they don't receive an initial buff on themselves when they give it away like locks do.Dunno if I've been clear enough... so I'll just try to draw it (don't know if this will even work since comment system eats 'less than' signs.Target.....Target...^.............^.......|..............|......FM............DI......|..............|.......|..............V....Mage......Lock.

According to the MMO champion thread, if all the other dps are classes/specs that don't benefit as much from DI as warlocks benefit from just the haste (the haste stacks) then it is best to circle jerk.

"Circle-jerking" Dark Intent should be an extremely rare occurrence. It should almost never happen in a 25 man raid, and even in a 10 man raid, I wouldn't think there are many times where you are going to find yourself with 0 other Dark Intent targets. The only time it works is with two destruction warlocks with very specific haste values, and even in those cases, you can't have any shadow priests, balance druids, assassination rogues, survival hunters, fires mages, restoration druids, or holy priests in the raid. It's a nice thing to know about, sure, but the potential for it to happen really isn't there.

I think the most important thing to say here is that you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have DI out there on someone. Even if there is no good target out there, pick the least bad target and DI them. If that means circle-jerking, so be it. Just make sure you have DI out there.
