The debuff will apply to anyone in range, so the idea is that you cluster up with the right DPS group, let them leech it, then dispel after the dps have got it. Dispelling it doesn't distribute the buff. You're dispelling it specifically because of the increasing damage it ticks for. You can heal through it for a bit though.

As for the knock back, there isn't any pressing reason for healers to stack with the range since you don't need the buff. Unless your raid leader is really uptight about keeping the raid organized, there isn't any reason why you can't stand off to the side.
