Breakfast Topic: Where in Azeroth would you make your imaginary home?

No matter your preference, your options for where to place your imaginary home in an imaginary world are quite numerous. Do you enjoy big city life? Why not settle down in Strormwind (only occasionally attacked by dragons), Ironforge (a bit damp), or Darnassus (recycling is mandatory)? How about Undercity (frequent mold problems), Orgrimmar (terrible traffic at rush hour), or Thunder Bluff (not good for acrophobics)? You can even make your home in Shattrath or Dalaran.Mornin', friend! Cheapo Renthike here. I'll be your Goblin realtor today! I've the finest Azerothian real estate right at my fingertips, ready to show and sell! What are you in the market for? Big city? Country farm? Small town? Or something more exotic? C'mon, I ain't got all day here!
Maybe you'd prefer the country experience? You might find a farmhouse in Westfall (beware of twisters), a quiet outpost in the Grizzly Hills (if you're a lumberjack), or perhaps the remnants of a cottage in one of the Plaguelands (be sure to get your vaccines updated). If small town living is your style, you may enjoy Lakeshire (now with 25% less lake), Auberdine (currently under renovation), or Crossroads (Chuck Norris' summer getaway). Fan of the beach? Head to Ratchet, Booty Bay, Sen'jin Village, or Theramore. Perhaps something more arid? Plant your feet in Cenarion Hold, Gadgetzan, or Ramkahen. If you want to hit the slopes, try Gnomeregan, K3, or Everlook. The choices are nearly endless!
If you could move to one of Azeroth's many cities and towns, where would you go?

South of the Mulgore starting zone in the mountains is a lake. By that lake is a single tree, a canoe in the water, and a lonely tent. I would plant my character there, and look out on both ends between Mulgore and Feralas.

Mulgore, Feralas, and the 1k Needles. I've been calling that place "Three Corners Camp".
It's beautiful. I took a screenshot as the background on my Macbook and I get -many- more people who don't generally play video games wanting to play WoW just because they walked by and thought it looked really nice.

Heh. I came by to say pretty much this - glad to have been beaten to it.
My main's a tauren druid, and I like to think of him eventually leaving WoW's eternal conflicts to head home, keep a watchful eye on the youngsters, and tell them that war definitely isn't glorious but might occasionally be necessary.

That's definitely where I've set up my own camp on Moonguard on my Tauren Hunter. It's a very nice place and I very very rarely see anyone there.

Thunder Bluff, most peaceful place you can find. who would run off the cliff anyway?
Samuel Mar 29th 2011 10:28AM
Peaceful except for the occasional revolt and elemental invasion. ;)

North of Elwynn forrst is a waterfall. On top of that waterfall is a lone camp with a fishing pole resting on the side of a fireplace. I would love the make my home there. Maybe i could craft a path down the side of the waterfall so i could visit Elwynn Forest and Stormwind.

If you're thinking of the house on Thunder Falls, there actually is still (I say still because the area has been around since vanilla) a path that goes up to it from the little defias camp at the bottom of the waterfall. The path isn't exactly obvious, but it is there.

I looked at an Elwynn map and remembered that there is another waterfall set you could have been referring too: the one that is north of Northshire Abbey, which more aptly fits your description. Ignore my earlier comment on the Thunder Falls cottage. p:

Howling Fjord, not always snowy, plenty of quiet rivers/streams, great scenery and something reminiscent to the araura borealis. That's where i'd like to live... on my fire mage... with plenty of Shoveltusks to combust!

I always liked that isolated dwarven farm on the Arathi coast.

Stoley (of Steamwheedle Port, Tanaris) and I are going to retire there and raise a small pack of rescued cubs from the trees of Mount Hyjal.
Galeos Mar 29th 2011 2:09PM
This is most definitely the spot.

Nagrand for sure. Somewhere in view of, or on top of those gorgeous waterfalls. Then again, maybe on one of the floating islands of land just above them.
Can you say Up?
MusedMoose Mar 29th 2011 8:22AM
Seconded. Nagrand is my absolute favorite Outland zone, and I always do a few quests there just because. Such a beautiful place.
Rimar Mar 30th 2011 2:42AM
Floating Island in Nagrand for me.
ThunderMonkey Mar 29th 2011 9:12AM
Agreed. As I tend to play hunters... that would be an ideal place just to kick back.

During BC I'd often log off on top of those floating islands. I loved it there, especially the ones with a tree and a waterfall. Completely peaceful (and out of Durn's reach).
