The Queue: Kiwi & Crater Face (the saddest Queue in the world)
Between the video above, and the one after the break, I'm sure you'll all want to join me in my kitchen as we cut some onions.
Yeah ... onions. That's why ... I'm ... sigh.
Samuel asked:
Why does it make sense that the looking for group channel is only available in cities? Wouldn't people want to look for raids while they are questing or farming? Maybe if the channel was available outside cities, it would actually get used, instead of trade being used to look for groups.
Blizzard has said before that it doesn't want LFG to be a global channel. If it did become a global channel, it'd be used for even more off-topic discussion amongst everyone on the server (or so Blizzard reckons, and I tend to agree here).
The channel did exist like this for a time, and it wasn't a pretty place. It was as if 4chan invaded WoW.
Blezip asked:
Do WoW Insider writers have other jobs than WoW Insider?
The majority of writers have other gigs in addition to WoW Insider. Some of us have a couple of editorial positions here and elsewhere, etc. ... Speaking only for myself, I work here, at a place called Tecca, and on a super-secret project I'm not going to talk about yet.
Razion asked:
Has Blizzard ever held any sort of item creating contest before?
Nope, but that's a good idea. Here's hoping someone over at big blue reads this and thinks it's a good idea, too.

Do you know if they will bring back Gahz'ranka in the new ZG?
:)

Gahz'ranka is not returning. However, some of it's offspring will be (Lost Offspring of Gahz'ranka)

Ah, the days of global LFG; when upon logging into the game you would instantly be bombarded with a wall of Chuck Norris jokes and flame wars. It was like The Barrens chat and Trade chat had a horrible, horrible love child.
fallemwarrior Mar 29th 2011 11:13AM
They already did, its called the forums

Unless you always logged into it in which case you might be a moderator occasionally in which case you could kick the annoying people out. Aw, those were some nice days.

I never had a problem with the old LFG channel on my server, BWL. In fact, it was nice: I would log into my main, do some "house keeping" (auctions, etc) and then log onto my farming alt, and go herbing/mining.
About every 2 minutes or so, I would hit a macro saying "tank LF (insert raid here) - geared and have experience - looking for some offspec gear"
Sure, there were the flamers and the jokers, but with a couple of clicks, they were ignored and the channel was largely used for what it was designed for: finding people for your groups.

Honestly, I rather miss global LFG. It was a mess at times, but I really enjoyed that there was always a conversation going on no matter how barren and boring your zone was, and there were always times when you'd be out questing in, say, Azshara, and the actual LFG requests would catch your eye and you'd soon find yourself heading off to run a dungeon with some strangers who, over the next hour or two of tragedy and triumph, could potentially become long term friends.
These days, you just put your head down and do your quests, use the LFD tool when you want to do a dungeon, meet complete strangers from various other servers that you'll never see again, and with any luck, complete the dungeon with very few wipes and nobody saying much of anything.

Kiwi is so sad, so sad... :'(
dengarsw Mar 29th 2011 11:53AM
Kiwi was sad, but I've seen it before so I knew better than to watch ;P But Crater Face... oh, heart break =*(
Scomparsa Mar 29th 2011 5:58PM
Kiwi I've seen before but I somehow never figured out what it was about, now that I do, it was depressing.
Crater Face though, almost brought me to tears T.T
So. Good.

What's the deal with Moira Bronzebeard? In the Dun Morogh questlines, you fight off a Dark Iron attack and she claims its due to the ambassador and other factions, blah blah blah. Fourty levels later, when you finally delve into Blackrock Depths, there she sits on the side of the throne. So what's going on here?

Timey Whimy Wibly Wobly Stuff
Timeline wise brd is before your Dun Morogh escapades

In BRD it's also back in time--if you noticed, Thaurissan is also still alive (you kill him) and Moira is still known as Moira Bronzebeard. Everything with Moira in Ironforge is AFTER that.

Time's funny stuff, Pete.

Where does the portal to Bastion of Twilight actually take you (in terms of lore)? It looks like it could be in the lower parts of Grim Batol, but if that's the case it makes me wonder why they made that goofy looking spire and rather should have made another entrance to GB on the backside of the mountain.
