Reorganising the character list.
I wanted this since vanilla!
Ryath Mar 29th 2011 7:27AM
It seems odd, but I've been waiting for that change for a long time.
Larka Mar 29th 2011 8:15AM
"Hell...its about time."

"SwagDog lets you show your faction hide with new WoW-themed hockey shirts."
Faction... hide?
Look, I know Worgen get a bonus to their skinning, so I really don't want to encourage them to try and skin Horde.
* Dexterworgen has looted [Hide of Forsaken Priest]
Yeah, no. D:

excuse the excitement for a moment. OMG OMG OMG OMG!

Great news, wanted to move my chars around for AGES.
Just a note, I'd love to be able to move some of my chars I never go on to an inactive tab, (where they can stay or be moved out of easily) to further clean up my cluttered login screen.
What do you think?
alexbroadxhead Mar 29th 2011 9:43AM
I think that'd be a great idea. Cause I run so many alts, I have 10 toons on 1 server, and most are 80+ so I dont want to delete them, but I love leveling characters, so this or more character slots (20+)lol would be awesome
Nina Katarina Mar 29th 2011 7:59AM
There's something wrong when I'm more excited about the character rearranger than I am with the 'new' dungeons. Probably wrong with me.
Baba Mar 29th 2011 8:18AM
There is nothing wrong with you.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Aaron Mar 29th 2011 8:03AM
Cake for everyone! :D
Cain Mar 29th 2011 8:06AM
I'm still not sure I understand the excitement over re-organising your toons...I mean sure you don't need to scroll the inch or so further down to get to your last toon but really? I guess I'm in the minority on this. I can't help but feel theres a lot more necessary and useful fixes that could be done...
Mitawa Mar 29th 2011 8:44AM
Why wouldn't you want to organize your character list? You could put all your 85's at the top, or make the list alphabetical, or Separate them by faction.
I find that the order in which I make my characters is almost never reflective of how much I play them. My character list in order is an 83, 72, 85, bank alt, 72, other faction mule, and the character I'm currently working on.
I'd love to have the one I'm working on nearer the top and the 72 out from between the 80+'s. Put the 85 on top while we're at it.... Organization is a wonderful thing, my friend. :)

While the change doesn't seem all that big to you, it's a nice feature. Also, the team that worked on that is not likely to have worked on raid design or class balance. So I am fairly certain that adding this feature didn't slow down the creation of new content.
And remember the other character list feature that people want? More than 10 characters per realm? Well, my guess is that this change to the character list also added what's needed to do that. (Or at least the start of the code for it.)
Jeff Field Mar 29th 2011 8:19AM
Don't usually comment, but this is the greatest change in the history of gnomekind.
lucifer.cross Mar 29th 2011 8:24AM
OMFG it's about damned time.
Scomparsa Mar 29th 2011 8:54AM
Screw ZA and ZG! Give us this in 4.1 and hold those back!
Scomparsa Mar 29th 2011 8:56AM
Comment system seems to have eaten my reasoning:
My character list is a MESS on my main faction of Earthen Ring:
85, 80, 85, 75, 73, 80, 80, 85, 46, 5. I want my 85s at the top, then the character I plan on working on, then all my other misc. alts.
Also, an upgrade to the comment system :P
Yakuko Mar 29th 2011 9:15AM
And there was much rejoicing from the OCD crowd. :D
Nipah Mar 29th 2011 8:44PM
You forgot that they prefer to be called the "CDO crowd", as that puts the letters in the correct order.
As someone without OCD, I can say this change is still fantastic. I make a ton of alts, and all I've ever wanted (er, well not ALL) was to be able to loosely sort them... having my Alliance banker at the top of my list is bad enough, but having my Horde banker 1/2 way down (in between various Alliance alts) always miffed me.
... maybe I do have a little OCD... *ponders*
