The Queue: Deal with it

People have been split on Blizzard's version of microtransactions (some would call a $25 mount a macro-transaction), loving or hating the idea of more for-pay mounts in game. Personally, I am a fan of Blizzard's mount sales, mostly because the game already rewards players in various ways for their achievements with mounts. If you're lucky, you got a Reins of the Grey Riding Camel. If you're a raider, you've got your Reins of the Drake of the East Wind. Mounts come from all over for lots of different achievements. This mount happens to come from your wallet. Something for everyone!
Hal asked:
What's the deal with Moira Bronzebeard? In the Dun Morogh questlines, you fight off a Dark Iron attack and she claims its due to the ambassador and other factions, blah blah blah. Fourty levels later, when you finally delve into Blackrock Depths, there she sits on the side of the throne. So what's going on here?
This is one of the issues with Cataclysm timeline stuff -- Moira as you know her in the earlier levels is the Moira of the present. The Moira in Blackrock Depths is from a time long past. You are just going to have to have a little suspension of disbelief for gameplay's sake to enjoy this one.

I wasn't playing WoW back during Classic, but I was wondering, back when Ironforge was the defacto capital of the Alliance, was Magni regarded as the overall leader of the Alliance, the way the warchiefs are for the Horde or Varian is now? Or was the Alliance more decentralized?
Shocker of shockers: I started my first character in World of Warcraft in May of 2004 on the Alliance side of things. In beta, Ironforge was the capital of the Alliance, and that continued on for a good, long while. It wasn't so much that Magni was regarded as the leader but more that the Alliance itself felt more decentralized, at least to me. Stormwind felt self-sustained; the dwarves and gnomes were doing their own thing, and the night elves were far away on the other continent and would come over to help on occasion. It just felt very separated.
Over time, though, the story coalesced, things changed, and Stormwind got its king back.
shadcroly asked:
Why are the trolls of Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman acting up now, of all times? Was it just bad timing that they finally got all their ducks in a row after Deathwing decided to be Azeroth's interior decorator, or did they specifically wait for this moment to start doing... whatever it is their doing now?
The short version of the story is this: the Zandalari tribe requested the aid of the Horde and the Alliance to beat down the Gurubashi of Zul'Gurub and the Amani of Zul'Aman. After these two tribes were brought to their knees, the Zandalari played their hand, offering to help them out of turmoil and become the leaders of a new, world-spanning troll empire, much like the one that existed before the Sundering and before the devastating War of the Aqir. Vol'jin and the Darkspears were asked to join but aren't happy with the power grab. So it's up to us to put a stop to it.
For the long version, check out our Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics, the trolls.
Uthame asked:
Now that WPL isn't so Plague-landish, do you think Blizzard will change the name to something else? Was that area referred to by another name before the Plague swept through there?
It used to be part of Lordaeron, but I don't think the name will change because the area is still undergoing transformation. It is still plague lands and probably won't change -- not for a while, at least.

Question for the Queue
Whenever I log in on my Hunter, I always have a quiver on my back even though I use a gun. Is this an issue that other people have had, and is there a fix for it? It's kind of annoying :/
fallemwarrior Mar 30th 2011 11:14AM
Use a bow, u wont look rediculous, or report it on the bug forums and they might fix it
Khevyn Mar 30th 2011 11:23AM
This is because one of your equipped Bags is a Quiver, even though the Quiver was changed to a regular bag. If you change your Quiver to a regular bag, you will lose your Quiver graphic.
Snowfeather Mar 30th 2011 11:31AM
Do you have a quiver as a bag slot? For hunters the quivers got changed into bags. I personally use my Ancient Wrapped Sinew for a 28 slot bag, and love the fact it still shows up on my back. It was a hard to get item when I did it at 60, and I love being able to show it off.
Jesse Felt Mar 30th 2011 11:55AM
Like the others have stated, this is because you have a quiver bag equipped. I personally love that I have my Ancient Sinew Wrapper Lamina showing every time I log onto my hunter and wish that they would make quivers always show up and show up to other people as well.

@Snowfeather
I believe the bag is 24 slot rather than 28, 28 would be a bit crazy! Awesome but crazy.
SIggrid Mar 30th 2011 1:51PM
Problem is, I don't have a quiver equipped in my bag slot. I have an Ammo Pouch :l
Elmo Mar 30th 2011 2:20PM
Can you still get a quiver bag?
I deleted them on my hunter because I thought they were useless now :(
I miss the old quiver showing, it should be part of wielding a bow.
Boobah Mar 30th 2011 4:00PM
Nah, all the quivers (and ammo pouches) are gone. Leatherworkers lost the recipes to make more, too.
Any that you had, you still have. But now they're just regular bags, usually with fewer slots than they had as quivers.

Dear The Queue,
Think we'll ever be allowed a 3rd major profession?
Thanks,
Grovin

^ this would be awesome.
whenever i pass by a mine on my herb/alch archeologist, it saddens me.
fallemwarrior Mar 30th 2011 11:09AM
Mabey one day, but first they need to break the original proffesions down, mabey take guns and bows form eng and ad it to a fletching/gunsmith proffession, that might require 2 gathering proffesions, Wood cutting / mining, u never
Amaxe Mar 30th 2011 11:17AM
I suspect that Blizz limits it to two in order to prevent people from getting too overpowered.
Right now, if you want two crafting specs (like BS-JC), you have to get the mats elsewhere.
Add a third profession and it becomes so easy to just get mining with that.
The result seems to be imbalance as Blizz would have to introduce new benefits for other professions so we don't see a world full of Miner-BS-JCs or a clothie equivalent.
N-train Mar 30th 2011 11:20AM
I know Blizz has addressed it, and their answer comes down to the same kind of reasoning that won't let us have triple-specs:
They want professions to still be a choice, and when you start letting players have three or four professions(specs) that choice becomes drastically less important.
That being said, fallemwarrior is right in that the current professions system would require a serious overhaul, as the system in place is centered around two professions, and three professions would really be only something that max-lvl characters would want or afford. In the current system you're often getting barely enough materials while leveling to supply one crafting profession, imagine all the mining it would take to level up both BS and JC at the same time.

Fallemwarrior,
Take a deep breath, and slow down a little. You're at risk of looking like "that guy" who thinks he has to respond to every single comment someone posts. The problem is, that's MattKrotzer's job.

Not to invoke the slippery slope argument, but in all seriousness, expanding to three would quickly beg the question "why not four" due to one reason:
Many newer players could easily end up with, say, Alchemy + Leatherworking + Skinning. I think the likelihood of a newer player ending up with a profession that they can only support through the AH would be pretty high, and then Blizzard would have to seriously consider expanding it to four so that players could have two crafting and two gathering professions that likely work together.
Hal Mar 30th 2011 12:41PM
@loop
It does not "beg the question." It warrants the question, it will lead to the question, but it does not "beg the question." That is something else entirely.
