Breakfast Topic: We need a title for our titles

Face it, we all love our titles. Some of us have a specific favorite that we just love to show off, a title that boldly displays our personality and our achievements at a glance. If you have Chef before your name, people will know you're a great cook. If you have Loremaster before your name, people will know you are passionate about lore (or quests).
And then there are the few of us who are passionate about titles themselves. Just like avid collectors try and collect as many pets as they can (and get a nice pet once they reach a certain number, a pet that tells everyone that you enjoy collecting pets) and mount collectors acquire as many mounts as they can, there are a few of us who collect titles. For us, displaying one title -- no matter how prestigious it is (Death's Demise, anyone?) -- simply isn't enough. How are we title collectors suppose to display our love of titles?
There in fact used to be a mod that would automatically cycle through whatever titles you told it to, but Blizzard killed it for some reason. I was hoping it was because they were adding the title collector titles, but alas ...
You can probably tell where I'm going with this: I think Blizzard should put in a title for having X number of titles. Maybe something like "Lord / Lady [Name]." How about adding a new tier to certain titles? The Seeker title requries completion of 3,000 quests -- but with Cataclysm, there are far more quests than that. So maybe add another tier of it, say ... 5,000 quests. Make the title "Knowledge-Seeker [Name]."
If you could create a title, what would it be, and how would one go about acquiring it?

I vote 'That's Mr'
As in 'That's Mr Ambassador to you buddy!'

For me, I'd love to have, "That's MS.!" as a pre-title, with "and don't you forget it" as a post-title, for when I'm feeling aggressively feminist.

If they add a prefix title "Lady" I would go to a GM and demand a namechabge of my main to Gaga...
...

Sleutel Mar 31st 2011 8:04AM
Really, I'd be happy if you could just simultaneously wear a pre- and post-name title. Then I'd be Salty Sleutel, Defender of a Shattered World!
Blooderfly Mar 31st 2011 8:28AM
This! I want so badly to be 'Crusader Nikaj the Noble!'
fallemwarrior Mar 31st 2011 8:35AM
they have the noble title already its for the Easter holiday
fudge Mar 31st 2011 8:39AM
Salty Sleutel, Septic Severer of the Seven Serpent Servants.

fallemwarrior, the key to that statement was CRUSADER [name] THE NOBLE. Bookend titles, one on each side.. Since, y'know, the twin title concept is the one that was replied to.

Sure, but can we get the player's name to stand out a bit. I have troubles in raids/instances/bgs where I can't figure out which vuhdu plate matches to a person standing in front of me. Titles are great, but get a bit overbearing sometimes.
Hmm, not playing at the moment, but isn't there an option to turn titles off in certain situations? I think some addons do some of this.
Neodarkmatter Mar 31st 2011 9:38AM
Professor Neodrkmatter the Insane

Well, given the trouble people have with coming up with surnames, don't you think it would be even worse with a last name?
Just imagine:
Defender of a Shattered World "DeathknightUberPwnDK of Pwndale"
"Joseph Mengele" the Patient
Champion of the Frozen Wastes "IminUrbase PwningYnooB"
"Froddo Bagginss" the Seeker
Loremaster "Gundalfv"
"Lorewise Name" the Explorer
"Waryon Wrinn"
"Thrallosh Galosh"
oh, the possibilites for alts!
:P
Cap Mar 31st 2011 11:54AM
I still want to be Cap the Exalted, Exalted... ;p
Berna Mar 31st 2011 1:14PM
Hey, I was going to write that too. I want to be Chef Berna the Exalted!
CDave Mar 31st 2011 2:16PM
Doctor the Insane would be my pick :D
Speaking of which, am I the only one who wants more titles in the same vein as the Insane? "the Maniacal" or "the Scatterbrained" for more incredibly grindy tasks. How about "the Certifiably Insane" for those of us crazy enough to get Insane for more than one character?
...wait no one else does? *slinks back to work on the 4th Insane character*
CDave Mar 31st 2011 2:18PM
grrr that was supposed to say Doctor (name) the Insane
Kurash Mar 31st 2011 5:55PM
Totally! I'd love to be Ambassador Kurash, Champion of the Naaru.
Deathknighty Mar 31st 2011 7:45PM
Well, if we're making new titles, I want to be Pwnzor Deathknighty the Epic!!
razion Mar 31st 2011 8:06AM
"Mr." Aquired automatically on all male characters.
MattKrotzer Mar 31st 2011 8:08AM
For RP purposes, a Lord/Lady title would be AMAZING.
As far as a title-collecting title goes, I really like "the Entitled."
I'd love to see profession-related titles. They did it for Archaeology. I'd love to see it for the other professions.
Engineering - Tinker, Grand Tinker, Master Tinker, High Tinker (look out Mekkatorque!)
Blacksmithing - Smith, Master Smith, Master Swordmaker/Axemaker/etc.
First Aid - Nurse, Doctor, Surgeon
Fishing - Angler, Master Baiter
Jewelcrafting - Gemologist
Enchanting - the Enchanting, Enchanter
Tailor - Seamster/Seamstress, Tailor, Master Tailor

+1 for The Entitled. Well chosen.
Would the profession titles be for just maxxing the profession out or perhaps a certain number of epic recipes collected/crafted (recipe collector here). It says a lot if you can collect every crafting recipe in the game. My guild is doing a bunch of retro raids at present and last night I got two (!!) epic tailoring recipes in COT Hyjal. I suppose that is payment for never (ever ever) getting the drake from Sarth 3D.
