For RP purposes, a Lord/Lady title would be AMAZING.As far as a title-collecting title goes, I really like "the Entitled."I'd love to see profession-related titles. They did it for Archaeology. I'd love to see it for the other professions.Engineering - Tinker, Grand Tinker, Master Tinker, High Tinker (look out Mekkatorque!)Blacksmithing - Smith, Master Smith, Master Swordmaker/Axemaker/etc.First Aid - Nurse, Doctor, SurgeonFishing - Angler, Master BaiterJewelcrafting - GemologistEnchanting - the Enchanting, EnchanterTailor - Seamster/Seamstress, Tailor, Master Tailor

+1 for The Entitled. Well chosen.Would the profession titles be for just maxxing the profession out or perhaps a certain number of epic recipes collected/crafted (recipe collector here). It says a lot if you can collect every crafting recipe in the game. My guild is doing a bunch of retro raids at present and last night I got two (!!) epic tailoring recipes in COT Hyjal. I suppose that is payment for never (ever ever) getting the drake from Sarth 3D.

I love the idea of profession-based titles, though there's no way I'd try to take the title of "High Tinker" from Mekkatorque. You just don't mess with someone that short with that many inventions. ^_^I'd also like to see class-based titles, perhaps based on spec - something you do a difficult quest for, one you *have* to do solo, and one that really makes you use your class's abilities to their fullest. For example:Death Knight: the Frozen, the Bloody-Handed, the NecromancerWarlock: the Plaguebringer, the Destroyer, the Demon-BinderHunter: Beastfriend, the Sniper, the SurvivalistMage: the Flamewielder, the Arcanist, the AbominablePaladin: the Guardian, the Lightwielder, the Healing HandPriest: the Sanctified, the Shadowcaster, the DiscipleWarrior: the Shieldbearer, the Weaponmaster, the BarbarianDruid: of the Claw, the Preserver, of the EclipseRogue: the Hidden Blade, the Unseen, the SwashbucklerShaman: the Earthwielder, the Lifegiver, the Stormcaller

@Mused Having a title for each talent set would take away the accomplishment of getting your own title, but... screw that, those titles are GOOD.

Surgeon ranked higher than doctor? That's inacceptable. The surgical profession evolved from mere barbers, while physicians had an academic background (hence the "doctor").Also, unlike nurse or doctor, no one was ever adressed as Surgeon Smith. It's his profession (just like doctor corresponds to physician). The proper address would be Mr Smith, which to my knowledge is still the case for fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons.

"The Skinner" FTW!For skinning an absurd number of mobs. Or perhaps for an achievement to skin one of each skinnable mobs, similar to the limnologist achievement.

Fudge: Wound a little tight for the morning Breakfast Topic, don't you think? Also, so long as there's "Dr. Phil," I really think the title of "Doctor" has been a bit devalued. You make a good point about "Surgeon" not being a title, per se... but switch it around to "the Surgeon" and it becomes a lot more appealing for precise killer-type characters. And really, that's what it's about. Giving players fun ways to distinguish their characters. Not for real-world accuracy.

@Xantenise:There could still be a requirement, such as: Complete 100 random dungeons in this spec without dying. Or something else that shows that you've mastered the spec.

Well, I still think that "the Surgeon" should not outrank "Doctor"How about "Medic"-> "Nurse"-> "Doctor"?Or alternatively, "Surgeon's Mate", "The Surgeon", "Surgeon General"

"the Titular" would probably be the most appropriate, but probably too giggle-inducing. "the Entitled" seems like a good compromise.

Am I the only one sick enough to see double meaning in the ' master baiter' title? For the sale of humanity I hope so!That said I like several of those titles (my pally would like master smith please!)
3-31-2011 @ 9:05AM
@MattKrotzerMaster Baiter...Why am I the first to notice this? :-p
3-31-2011 @ 9:11AM
@Samutz... The only problem with that is that then you are relying on being grouped for 100 randoms with people that have also mastered their spec.I do like the idea of spec based titles though. I'd like to throw out some other ideas for rogue spec titles. You guys can decide if they should be pre or post name, and obviously the exact wording would be adjusted accordingly (like adding 'of the' if the title comes after the name):The MutilatorThe AssassinOf the Furious BladesOn a Killing SpreeThe Shadow StepperThe Shadow DancerJust a few more ideas

Do your really want a title for fishing as "master baiter?" don't get me wrong almost spit my coffee out laughing when I read that but I think that title might need a little more thought.
3-31-2011 @ 9:16AM
Ooh! Just thought of one more for combat spec rogues: The Adrenaline Junkie. Not bad, eh?
3-31-2011 @ 9:22AM
"Master Baiter"I see what you did there Matt. Well played.
3-31-2011 @ 10:16AM
... and for those who has suffered through a Stonecore run:The speleologist.A title that actually would keep people within the dungeon, not having them drop out after the first trash wipe.(Disclaimer: A number of pugs I've been involved with has actually finished it, even on normal. Once, we even had the same tank!)
3-31-2011 @ 10:45AM
Hey MattThat second fishing title should come with blindness... or at least hairy palms....
3-31-2011 @ 10:59AM
So... worgen-only? Got it.

I would very much like more profession titles, say for a certain percentage of recipes known or something. I'm realm first Grand Master and Illustrious engineer and have every engineering recipe (except for goblin ones) in the game.
