As a die-hard Hordie and worgen speculator, I was out of my so-called comfort zone with Curse of the Worgen. After reading the first issue, however, I was hooked. If you're the comic book type, as I imagine most of us are, you're going to find it enjoyable, as the dark mood works really well throughout the series -- plus, the art is phenomenal. Pick up the last issue of Curse of the Worgen and grab some awesome wallpapers as well.

I have a love hate relationship with this series, love the worgan, hate the night elves.
Why does every single damn Book/Comic/Anything relating to wow have to do with the damn Night Elves!
Tired of Night elf lore. TIRED of it!
BlindWorg Mar 31st 2011 4:42PM
Nelves have been around a loooooong time before any other race in Azeroth, one would assume that they have had an influence in a variety of things across our shared fictional world.
Dave Mar 31st 2011 4:52PM
Because, as a race, the Night Elves are pretty much responsible for everything that's gone wrong on Azeroth in the last 12,000 years. From the moment they set up camp on the edges of the Well of Eternity, it's all gone to hell.

BlindWorg, Trolls predate them.

Too bad you get more lore out of the comic book then you get in game. So make sure that you either play the game or just read the comic, cause if you read the comic first and then play then game you are going to be really disappointed. And if you play the game first and then read the comic, you are going to ask "WTF Where are these worgen at?"

First there's the Well of Eternity being meddled with which leads to -> the attention of Sargeras and the Burning Legion + elves going Satyr -> Satyr means Xavius & the Nightmare -> The Well and the Legion means the Sundering of the once united Kalimdor to split into both continents & thus elves and Azshara turning into Naga -> The defeat of the Legion through the Sundering thus turns the Legion to the Orcs on Draenor, who later invent and create the Scourge and later form the complete Horde on Azeroth-> the orcish Horde which later forces the mortal races to create the Alliance which leads to all sorts of war, and then there's the Aqir from the War of the Shifting Sands and then it all just landslides horribly.
The elves are like an adorable toddler who finds a pretty vase, plays with it, and smashes it on the floor. And the only reason the adults in the room aren't scolding the child is because that same child is making a sad little puppy-dog face while trying to put the pieces back together (and every time they pick up a piece it somehow breaks and lets loose a hundred thousand demons, Old Gods, and insane twin brothers). Imagine that same act being done by an adult. But not just an adult, an adult who is at least a few thousand years older than you and should definitely know better by now. Think about it--what great accomplishments have the night elves done for Azeroth that wasn't essentially "we found this OTHER race of people [to help out with all the problems that WE'VE made so it's all cool now]" or "fixing something that is, frankly, our fault in the first place [aren't you proud of me curing this plagued patch of land even though we're the reason the Scourge even exists]"? None--the night elves are a huge liability for the Alliance. I wouldn't be surprised if the faction leaders didn't consider them First Infantry Canon Fodder at this point.

wait your blaming Night elves for the scourge? geez why not blame the first horse tamer for Arthas then cus who knows what would've happened had he not had that horse...
The Night elves DID make mistakes but if they didn't make that mistake that doesn't mean nobody else would have later on. The burning legion would have gone there anyway at some point.
Dreyja Mar 31st 2011 9:15PM
Yeah sorry some of that was a PRETTY huge stretch. Also, if you don't think the burning legion would have ever found Azeroth without the whole Well of Eternity thing... Sargeras has some swampland to sell you in the Nether!
I'm no fan of any of the elves but, really. :)
razion Apr 1st 2011 5:29AM
I don't consider it a huge stretch--it's just that if ONE event never occurred, the entire time-line of events that happens after it would never have happened. Breaking one link on the chain causes the rest to fall to pieces--everything leading up to this point is caused by issues that are all linked back to the Well of Eternity.
If the elves hadn't meddled with the magic of the Well of Eternity, they wouldn't have drawn the attention of the Legion and gotten corrupted. We wouldn't have the Legion knowing about Azeroth at all. Without that corruption, we wouldn't have The Sundering. And without the Sundering the Legion would not have known of the Orcs and looked for them. And without the Legion's involvement with the orcs, the orcs would have stayed and lived their primal, care-free shamanistic lives in peace on draenor with the draenei. Without the Legion messing with Gul'dan and Ner'zhul, there would be no Lich King. And, yes, without the Lich King trapped in the armor in Northrend, Arthas would not have gone corrupt--there would have been nothing to corrupt him. The creation of the Scourge would never have occurred.
With the Night Elves didn't directly create the Scourge, its creation would have been made impossible if the Night Elves never so recklessly messed with magic beyond their kin. So much pain and suffering could have been avoided. While the elves are not directly responsible, everything that has happened is directly tied to the Well, which is what makes the War of the Ancients the single most important event in Warcraft history, and this is why we see the elves around everywhere.
Al Apr 1st 2011 7:33AM
Actually, The Legion would have known about the Orcs because they tracked down the Draenei.
As for the "Brox inspired them to recruit the Orcs" theory.
A. That's never stated anywhere, outside of Fanon.
B. That's Knaak. It doesn't count.
Kook Mar 31st 2011 7:16PM
Is it just me, or was anyone else's first thought on seeing that image "Woah, blinded by improbably big assets..."
Khoonda Mar 31st 2011 8:53PM
A night elf fighting a werewolf and ur demanding reality?!?!?!
Dreyja Mar 31st 2011 9:12PM
Yeah, this isn't reality but come on, we are allowed to point out that ta-tas that size really do get in the way of an athletic life-style.
I do wish there was a courageous comic-artist out there that would dare to break the mold, just once, in this area. ;-)
Torlaz Apr 1st 2011 1:39AM
This is why Night Elf women shouldn't wear something that revealing on the first date. You reject him and his worgen goes into a rage.
Al Apr 1st 2011 2:37AM
Does the final issue take place entirely from the Forsaken perspective?
