Tomb of Immortal Darkness was awesome, until I got to the end. "Over 9000" ? Really? A 10-year old joke?
Drakkenfyre Apr 1st 2011 2:51PM
Figured I would get downvoted by the people who think a 10-year old joke was funny. It wasn't funny when it came out, people. It's not funny 10 years later.
The rest of that "article" was great, tho.

Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

You know how "The cake is a lie" is outdated now, because it's from 2007?
Image that, only 6 years older.
Repeating a line from a badly chopped up anime (almost anything released here is badly chopped up, hell, the original line wasn't even "9000") isn't in any way funny. It's lower on the humor scale than fart jokes. There is a point where a joke is driven into the ground, and every person who comes across it, thinks it's the funniest thing they have ever heard, and starts repeating it doesn't know it's old, it's older than hell. It after so much time makes you look either dumb, slow, a kid, or "I'm still using 10 year old memes because I don't know any more."

Crabby is almost as useful as Clippy and his pals. I remember how helpful he was when I had to write a term paper. Although he never did offer external links to music like Crabby does. Oh Blizzard, only today you finally give me something truly epic.

"'It seems your healer is asleep at the wheel. Would you like me to poke him?'
* Yeah, that'd be cool.
* OH GOD IT BURNS!"
"'Don't start a war you cannot win. Remember to pick your fights wisely.'
* Thanks, Crabby! You're the best!
* That's excellent advice! I'll keep that in mind!"
Made. My. Day.

I've never been able to forgive Blizzard for offering the Bard Class as an April Fool's joke. It made the prospects of ever having a real class feel depressingly remote.

What more can i say?
ITS FRIDAY!!!!!!!

The 4.1.11 Patch Notes are amazing. Go read the whole thing now, quoting does not do this justice.
RetPallyJil Apr 1st 2011 3:03PM
That 'We are not alone" screenshot is the single most epic piece of Blizz art, ever.
Drakkenfyre Apr 1st 2011 4:15PM
"•Flame Shock, Earth Shock, Dot Shock and Frost Shock have all been combined into a new spell called Bus Shock. This ability is less exciting, less powerful and harder to use than equivalents of comparable classes, but it has a new icon."
I just noticed this on the fake patch notes. Ouch.
That phrase was used rather offensively, and the entire period eventually led to the firing of Tseric. I think that's a bit harsh to joke about.
Ominous Apr 1st 2011 4:28PM
As long as I had the option to toggle him off, I'd quite like a Crabby. He'd be a better way of presenting the newbie info, when new players first fire up the game!
Crabby makes more sense than a lot of people I've pugged with!
Interficio Apr 1st 2011 5:04PM
Is it just me, or does these april fools jokes sound awesome? I mean come on a dungeon in duskwood, how awesome is that?! Has blizz ever made april fool jokes into reality?
Drakkenfyre Apr 1st 2011 6:15PM
As far as I know, no.
Valve did last year with the Sniper update for TF2.
"Hey, announcing a new weapon for the Sniper! Piss in a jar! Throw it on your enemies to (debuff) them! It puts out fire! It humiliates your opponents!"
Two months later when the Sniper update came out, it was one of the weapons. Of course, in that case, they knew it was going to be released, so they announced it on April Fool's to screw with people, and make them doubt it when it really came out.
