Not that I'm a raid leader, but when the group is still learning the fight it's best to get it go on as long as there's still a tank and a healer up (for 10s), barring facepulls, to get practice on as much of the fight as possible. Once the group knows the fight a bit better and it's about precision it's better to call the wipe once a healer or tank dies and can't be battle ressed (or your top 2 DPS) to get more attempts in during the allotted time. If the only thing that is going wrong is that you're hitting the enrage timer, it's best to call the wipe as soon as even one DPS is down and can't be battle ressed.
Also a wipe is when you were trying to mouse turn to get in position on Chimaeron and you accidentally right-click on the boss (oops)
