We keep getting more and more news about the upcoming patch 4.1. The game is always changing and updating and improving. As I thought about times gone by, I couldn't help but think of Yesterday's News. In this beautiful, poetic video, Slashdance creates a story to help exemplify the changes to the game. They take what could be simple and unremarkable patch notes and make those changes human and emotional.
It seems like everything in this video was put together with forethought and careful consideration. The music, narrative pace, and imagery all speak to that final theme of things changing and things forgotten. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Simple, poignant and beautiful. I agree, this was put together just right, perfectly paced and on target. Thank you for sharing a video I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Every time I see this video I get the same feeling of sadness for the stone-crafter, but then an ultimate feeling of happiness that through the changes in the World (of Warcraft) he found love with another out of work Azerothian.
So pissed... no cookies. - Those are the two things that stood out on the newspaper to me. I sat here for a few minutes trying to read the rest of the paper but to no avail. :D
"Do you like cookies? I love cookies. It can be safely assumed that everyone not only loves cookies, but in fact that that cookies are quite commonly chosen for one's dietary goals. Now consider that common ingredients needed to make cookies (flour, sugar, eggs, etc.) are obtainable only through a secret method known only to 8.453% of the entire population of the world. Now, shall we expect these cookie enablers to produce their wares free of charge? Is this not a form of theft? Indeed, while these masters of the cookie may find great satisfaction in offering these goods as charity, we must realize that to take these goods without compensation is to treat their..."

I wouldn't say I am an avid World of Warcraft Movie watcher, but I have to say I have become a bit disappointed lately of the new releases. The quality isn't what it used to be; perhaps it has something to do with the infamous and seemingly widespread claim that WoW is losing it's "oomph" for alot of people.
I really liked this though, new or not. It was simple, made a statement, didn't seem rushed or hastily done. Nice work!
Forgive the tone if it sounds combative or whatever, but I have to ask:
Is there any new machinima being made anymore? It really seems like the past few weeks have all been recapping stuff that's been out for months or even years.
I have to agree with your sentiment. It seems all that comes out is more belf-rap. And frankly, the majority of that should never see the light of day.
"Yesterday's News", "Blind", "Ulduar" -- these are among my favorites. But I'd really like to see some more that try to tell a story, and "Ulduar" is pushing more into the flashcut, music video genre that I feel is overdone (and usually done poorly, but Ulduar is an exception to that; Cranius and Summergale's singing with Legs' video created a real gem).
I don't have the chops to make the videos myself , though I do have several stories that could be boarded up as a script. No one I know is a videographer. I wonder... is there a place someone could post scripts for someone else to make the vid? That would be cool.
