We keep getting more and more news about the upcoming patch 4.1. The game is always changing and updating and improving. As I thought about times gone by, I couldn't help but think of Yesterday's News. In this beautiful, poetic video, Slashdance creates a story to help exemplify the changes to the game. They take what could be simple and unremarkable patch notes and make those changes human and emotional.
It seems like everything in this video was put together with forethought and careful consideration. The music, narrative pace, and imagery all speak to that final theme of things changing and things forgotten. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
@ Glaras, i share the same sentiments, i just cant devote a set amount of time each day to making movies, but i have (what I think) are great/good stories for genuine WoW RP stories, and amusing shorts, but i dont know how to make a video nor do i have the time or computer dedicated to doing so (this is like, the work/nothing to do comp and i am waiting for my dad to get me a laptop)
where can submit my ideas? (i basically repeated Glaras message)
Aww! so sweet and sad! This is why I take guildies to outland dungeons and raids, so they can experience it fully, and the meeting stones get some use. Try explaining how to get to SSC to someone who started playing in Wrath, they will never find it.
And don't I feel old, remembering seeing a summoning stone for the first time outside Sunken Temple, wondering what the heck that was, some kind of pretty clicky shiny thingy, attempted to summon my other groupmate - completely not realising we needed to be two to do so and being befuddled why the darn thing wasn't working.
Ha I remember that too - I'd taken a guildie to Deadmines and we stood there outside looking at the summon stone like the freaking apes in 2001 staring at the Monolith.
WoW Machinima has been dead for some time, and it was mostly brought by the flood of PvP videos that made it difficult for story driven Machinima films to be seen. Some other issues, such as the lack of old school Machinimators sticking around through WoW over the years, as well as the lack of community WoW once had are also to blame.
Warcraftmovies.com for a while was the beacon of light for Machinima, but as stated above, they did not do much to stop the amount of PvP videos that Burning Crusade introduced when they brought Arena matches into the game.
Hell, Machinima has been dead for a while now, with just slight remnants here and there holding on. I'm surprised no one has noticed this sooner. It's been this way since... before WotLK.
I wonder if the lead(s) ever look at this world as a whole and wonder where it's going.....our real life is full of the skeletons of our history......what is ....awww.....nm

I have an even better suggestion: Make one yourself.
If I can do it, so can you.

Quit your bitchin' and crepe hanging and go download Fraps, then.
The future is in YOUR hands!
