Breakfast Topic: Do you have a roleplaying or off-duty outfit?
This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the AOL guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages.
I come from a roleplay server, so the concept of RP outfits is not a new one to me. Whether made of epics, grey items, or a combination of everything in between, making your character unique and stylish is an ongoing project for many players. There are entire websites dedicated to stylish ways of dressing your characters in-game.
I usually have up to three saved outfits per character, if it's a character I've roleplayed with frequently. However, as my server has aged and the roleplay has dwindled, I've noticed that even many people who don't choose to RP will frequently don specific attire when not inside a dungeon. They hang out near the auction houses and banks, often wearing the most intimidating or impressive outfit they can find. Many times it will be an old armor set, like tier 2 or 3, or a particularly challenging bit of gear to collect, like the Warglaives of Azzinoth. It's always fun to see how players choose to present themselves in-game, whether it be the garb of a demon hunter, gnomish tinker, or in my case, a Stormwind guard.
WoW provides so many options to show different facets of your personality through the clothes and weapons you wear. What's your outfit of choice?

My auction alt does have an special outfit consisting of tuxedo pants, a black silk shirt and the guild tabard. Apart from that, none other characters.

My banker also has a tuxedo.

Whenever I'm forced to brave the untamed dangers of the Auction House in search of gems and enchanting supplies, I don my only suitable protection: Mirren's Drinking Hat.

I usually don't bother with such outfits but my Young Worgen Warrior was different after he got the Lord Walden top hat I ended up getting him a Tux, a black cape, dress shoes, and a very fancy cane... He may be a bloodthirsty warrior most of the time but in town hes a gentlemen

I like to wear my dk t10, even so much as farming ore and herbs with the t10 visual pieces (gloves, chest, legs, shoulders, helm and Citadel Enforcer's Claymore) while all the other slots are my cata pieces so I don't get completely destroyed while I'm getting my twilight jasmine and elementium :D

Last sunday I was all day long spending my time on wow sites to know the outfits, costumes and clothies that can be made with my tailoring. Can someone let here some site that I can use for it? Something like, ah, a list of outfits, I don't know well... Anyway, thanks.
(If my english is too bad, sorry.)

For ideas and inspiration I'm a big fan of http://wowrpc.waddellconsulting.com/
Another good source is using the model viewer http://www.wowmodelviewer.org/ and just going through gear to look for something nice, then search for that item on wowhead to see how you get it (crafted, world drop, quest etc)
I hope that helps ^_^

I'm not on a RP server, but if you're lucky you can still catch some good RP in the taverns or just outside SW. My bank is overflowing with my different outfits. Admittedly, not all of them are purely "RP" outfits (some are just old sets I thought were pretty..never leave home without Priest T6) but I do have a pirate costume, wedding outfit that took forever to put together and will be used next month, and several transformation or trinket costumes. I also collect mounts and companion pets so that I can show off my personality or mood even if I don't have the liberty of donning a whole outfit at the time due to my RL being nitpicky about me wearing gear with actual stats on it, lol.

Wow, run-on sentences :c Sorry guys, this IS Breakfast Topic and maybe I should go have some coffee with mine.

Bunny ears, a calico vest, a set of those early "woolies", and abracadaver

I tend to find an outfit that looks good on my character and wear it if I'm not doing anything important or hanging out with friends. My tailor mage has the full tuxedo, usually accompanied by the Headless Horseman's sword for occasional pumpkin-army assistance. ^_^ My hunter has a nice-looking "man about town" sort of set, made of cloth and leather quest rewards, that suits him when he's not running around the wilderness with one animal or another. And my draenei shaman kept the starting dress, just because it looks so nifty.
...seriously, it does...

I made a tuxedo and sent to to my placeholder toon for my Dwarf shaman. He even had the diamond tipped cane. I have the noble garden tuxedo/suit on 4-5 toons. I try and make a "fancy" set for all my players usually just the festive suits from lunar festival. Those are good because it takes up one slot in your bags. Problem is on most of my toons I don't have the empty bag space to put my gear when I switch :( Especially when fishing and those bags fill up quickly. But it is fun to do and fun to see other people decked out.

I'm not on an RP server and have never role played. However, after a long night of raiding, my main changes into a comfy blouse, a colorful kilt and soft sandals then goes down to the bar and relaxes with a few drinks. She will still carry her bow and staff however. She likes to relax but is still careful.
Marcosius Apr 6th 2011 8:24AM
I do, since I spend my time on an RP realm. My character bank slots are usually full of quest rewards I thought looked cool, stuff like T'chalis kilt or Darkmoon Vest, Consortium Combatant's Robes... List goes on and on. Usually I theme them with the character class and race if possible, for example my Blood Elf hunter has the glyphed set + lohng'oron, bow of the torn-heart as a RP outfit.
FlameFlash Apr 6th 2011 8:28AM
Every one of my toons that sticks around and enjoys some of the holiday events (or receives an inspirational quest reward item) have outfits.
I'm not exactly sure when the cutoff level is, but only my low-level worgen and all my low level horde alts don't have outfits.
Outfitter's auto-change to "around town" is a blessing.
FlameFlash Apr 6th 2011 8:29AM
And for the record, I'm not on an RP server.
Nagaina Apr 6th 2011 8:30AM
ICly speaking, my characters change clothes quite a bit. My RP main, who happens to be a death knight, is a total and genuine clotheshorse -- his love of beautiful, comfortable clothes is his last lingering trace of human vanity and actually makes him feel somewhat more rooted in the world of the living. When he's not armored-up for action, he can usually be found wearing one of those shirts from Dalaran (at the moment, it's the blue martial shirt), a pair of tuxedo pants (the only *genuinely black* pair of pants in the game that I've found thus far), a properly dark pair of boots, and a tabard of some sort (right now it's the Ebon Blade tabard).
....I kind of want to run around in the beginning areas with him and collect some of the spiffy new starting clothing rewards, to be honest.
ekfxc Apr 6th 2011 8:35AM
You sound sensitive. You probably drink South Island Ice Teas. Man up, get drunk, and solo Maloriak like I do every Friday night.
Nagaina Apr 6th 2011 8:39AM
The only beverage I regularly consume is the blood of my enemies, kid.
Now, hold still while I throw this bucket of hot, soapy water on you and find some nice mageweave for you to wear while your armor is drying.

I not only ran around the newly revamped classic zones in search of new RP clothes and accessories, I tend to roll lowbie alts to strip them of their starter dresses, like the new Worgen and Goblin caster robes, smuggling them through the neutral AH to have a somewhat unique-to-my-faction outfit.
