If you are leveling up archaeology, particularly on a high level character, if you spend some time to pick the flowers or mine the ore as you pass, you can supply those to any of your other toons. Particularly the continuing need for gems for the JC dailies, but also feeding my scribe's Glyph market activities. If you have a leatherworker, then anyone you can spare to do skinning as they level up will help you get the leather you need for the top end recipes.Even if you're not into selling transmutes regularly, you might want to regularly accumulate the product of cooldown recipes. When you DO need the materials, you will have built up a stockpile. For tailoring, if you're not going to be using/selling/disenchanting the items you make while skilling up, you might as well level up via Dream Cloth. Zero useless byproducts.
