Patch 4.1 PTR: New PvE-to-PvP currency conversion

Updated 4.1 patch notes for April 7, 2011
General
- Honor is now purchasable from the Justice Commodities Vendor at 250 Honor per 375 Justice.
- Justice is now purchasable from the Honor Commodities Vendor at 250 Justice per 375 Honor.
- Conquest is now purchasable from the Valor vendor at 250 Conquest per 250 Valor.
This is huge for people who have found themselves capped on one or another of these currencies for a while now. I know for myself, I've ended up stockpiling heirlooms for characters I may or may not ever level just to keep below the JP cap. Now I can get serious about those last few PvP items I've been holding off picking up. I am surprised to see a valor-to-conquest conversion but not a conquest-to-valor one -- seems somewhat unfair, as it gives PvE players with access to a lot of valor points a way to jump into PvP but gives no such return for PvP players who want to get a leg up in PvE.
Keeping in mind it's the PTR and is always subject to change, of course, this should be a more interesting solution to point capping than we've seen before with trade goods and suchlike.
WoW Patch 4.1 is on the PTR, and WoW Insider has all the latest news for you -- from previews of the revamped Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub to new valor point mechanics and new archaeology items.

I'm very happy that PvE players can get a leg-up in PvP now, but what about us PvPers who need that leg up in PvE? That makes me a saaaaaad pvp panda :'(

I think it's completely unfair that a high end PvE player has access to high end PvP gear, but not the other way round.
I love the conversion idea, it's great, but please balance it out Blizzard.

I dont believe that a conquest-valor conversion would be bad.
There is nothing worse than having youreself all decked out in the best PVP gear woth all the enchants and resilliance and then showing up for battle with a plastic weapon...
this will make the experience a bit more enjoyable for people who like battlegrounds but dont have the time or proper guild to run rated bg's or arenas.
Hey Blizz, 2 thumbs up!

This is a good change, they've been saying they were going to do this before cata came out, and I have been waiting! I want to try arena's with my friend but I just don't have enough time in the day all the time to farm TB, farm BG's AND raid AND help my guild run random heroics ..
I have a few pieces already but this will allow me to earn the other pieces I need sooner, and let me focus on -doing- what I want to instead of grinding.
Much appreciated blizzard!

What's the point anymore?
I PvP to get gear to gain an advantage over other players, to be the one doing the ''one shotting'' and whatever you wana call it. Isn't that the whole point of gear? getting an advantage? The people currently valor point gear capped, but still can't win a 1000 MMR arena game (No offense to you non-bad dragonkillers, I respect your choice to not pvp completely, I just hate the ones that get carried to free gear nowadays) will be able to get all the gear people that actually PvP get?
What's the point of gearing anymore, if those people will be able to get full vicious/whatever the new season will be?

Also, because i forgot to mention it in my first post. I have nothing against the JP/honor conversion, Valor->CP is the only thing that bothers me.

This is also a nice way to make up gear gaps that blizzard puts in....like getting a decent gun for my Dwarf Hunter.

unvme331:
What you need to remember is that Blizz wants everyone to enjoy the game, not just the "hardcore" sect. How about the hardcore players start paying $30.00 per month and the casual players can just keep paying $15.00. Then you'd have a reason to whine about being "hardcore" and having to deal with changes that help the casual player. Seriously, when you invest something more into the game other than your time, then whine all you want. But until then, and as long as both "hardcore" and "casuals" are all paying Blizz the same for the opportunity to play the game, then just stop. Personally I'm tired of the whole "We don't have lives so we play 20 hours a week and deserve more because of it!" mentality. No one, including Blizz, ever asked you to play as much as the "hardcore" community does. No one ever promissed "hardcore" players special recognition or advantages. So how about we just all praise the positive changes, no matter what sect they pertain to, or flippin' quit WoW if you're so unhappy.

Valor is a lot harder to get than Conquest. Its just a way to bleed off excess Valor and want to get some pvp gear. Its well done as far as I can see lets players who want to switch from one aspect of the game to the other to do so more easily.
Its very well handled the people complaining just want a shortcut to get Valor itens that should not be implemented.

Great. Now every PvE scrub will be running around in vicious set and weapons.
I think it's time for another break from this game.
john.sampson Apr 20th 2011 2:17PM
Hmm by the same token people could say - oh now the PvP srubs will just wander into heroics without doing the needed gear grind!
Jaydvd Apr 26th 2011 12:48PM
SO basically what you're saying is that you'd rather prove how good you are at pvp by beating up newbies wearing shit gear, than beat them when, at least gearwise, they are somewhat even? nice.

Finally an option for those of us who need things like Honor point heirlooms, but despise pvp play. Good job Blizzard. Took longer than it should have...but good job.

Seriously .... i cant trade my conquest for valor.... why the hell not ??? i worked hard for them just as hard as some one in pve but they don't have to do a thing in pvp and get the rewards.... i don't understand the reason for this why even pvp to get extra points if i can only get a couple crystals .... Thank you Blizz for screwing pvpers over again... whats next?
