Sounds like they are desperate to get PVE players to do some PVP. This just makes it easier to get gear so the death isn't quite so quick when the real PVP player attacks.Of course what this also means is that Blizz thinks not enough people are playing PVP - which from what I've seen is true - maybe it just isn't as much fun?

Well, fun is extremely subjective. For instance, I don't find number-crunching fun, and would rather try to immerse myself in the world (of Warcraft) and get into my character's head as I play the game. Others, though, get a ton of enjoyment out of figuring out how to eke out the last few hundred DPS out of their build and making themselves mathematically superior. And y'know what? As long as we're both having fun, we're both doing it right. ^_^However, I can see how a few bad PvP experiences (or just one) that stemmed from being under-equipped for it might lead to someone not having fun in PvP. Hopefully this change will help people like that gear up and give it another try, and if they do, hopefully they'll enjoy it more.

I think it has more to do with people running out of things to spend points on too early. Remember, they also added point vendors to get people something else to burn them on. Also, if you think about it, it could be a different way to get heroic gear as a DPS besides wasting time in a queue for a dungeon.
