Official WoW TCG War of the Elements card, loot information released

War of the Elements comprises 80 common cards and 50 uncommon cards with 20 heroes, 60 rares, and 10 epics. The Epic Collection boxes of War of the Elements contain six booster packs, one playmat and deckbox, a collectible storage box, one loot card, a pocket guide, and five random foil War of the Elements heroes. You will always get at least one loot card in your Epic Collection.
Finally, Cryptozoic has also released the official loot list for War of the Elements. It will come as no surprise to you that the common loot card is Landro's Lichling, a remodeling of the Blizzard store's Lil' K.T. companion pet. The uncommon loot card is the War Party Hitching Post, allowing you to place down a hitching post for your groupmates to grab a special horse mount that lasts until you hop off. The rare loot card is the Savage Raptor ground mount, because really, who doesn't love raptors? All loot cards will be redeemable when patch 4.1 hits.
War of the Elements is releasing worldwide on April 26, 2011, and the Epic Collection box sets are available May 2011.

"It will come as no surprise to you that the common loot card is Landro's Lichling, a remodeling of the Blizzard store's Lil'XT companion pet. "
Is this right, or should it be a remodel of Blizzard's Lil Kel'Thuzad?

Methinks it would come as a surprise for Landro's Lichling to be a remodelling of Lil XT.
Nivella Apr 8th 2011 3:09PM
Maybe it's a goblin owned robot lich who just wants new toys.
Eldoron Apr 8th 2011 6:15PM
There already is Landro's XT (I have it) so ofc it's the Lil' Kel'Thuzad. Or maybe Frosty.

It's pretty lame that the rare loot is a raptor that nobody would differentiate from the tons of other raptor mounts that already exist. Now, if it were neon green and glowed, then maybe...

BUT. Keep in mind that theres no way currently for alliance players to get a non-skeletal or non-feathered (which is probably more paleontologically correct) raptor anymore.
bobikinbobwalker Apr 8th 2011 4:15PM
@Cyno - Actually, a raptor with feathers would definitely be more paleontologically correct. There's only one raptor species that has not yet been discovered to have feathers (Velociraptor) and paleontologists assume this is because feathers don't preserve well in desert environments.
Whether or not trolls decorated raptors with bird feathers before riding them around is still up for debate.

@bob: Actually, it's pretty well established that the raptors in WoW decorate THEMSELVES with feathers.
And yes, if you look at a modern artist's rendering of a raptor, it's going to look more like a bird than a dinosaur, likely almost fully feathered with fanning feathers on its forearms and the end of its tail.

The raptors decorate themselves with feathers. This desire is described in the quest http://www.wowpedia.org/Quest:Searing_Roc_Feathers that horde does to gain their venomhide raptor mount.

Yeah. It is lame. Unfortunately Blizzard (yeah we know) has quite the reputation for taking something pretty rare and giving it away for free. At least these will still be rare-ish unlike when they cloned my Pengu and made him free (chilly willy). I still get Pengu on every toon when I get exalted with the Kalu'ak but I don't use them much. If they have problems thinking of other pets/mounts to make just check out a wowinsder breakfast topic on the subject and they will find a bajillion (that's right I counted!) magnificent ideas to choose from.

The Savage Raptor looks pretty distinct to me.

I forgot that Alliance wouldn't normally be able to have a raptor. But, then again, who cares about the Alliance anyway?
bobikinbobwalker Apr 8th 2011 11:12PM
While I was reading this replies, my alt was mauled by raptors in Un'Goro Crater.
Inorite?

*these replies.
It's late, ok?

I like how raptors look, but if I am zoomed out into third person, the bouncing makes me physically queasy. :(
MattKrotzer Apr 8th 2011 4:03PM
People actually play WoW in first-person mode?
Scomparsa Apr 8th 2011 4:11PM
Agreed. My troll alt actually used his Celestial Steed until he hit exalted with Bligewater.

Does anyone know if there is some variation to the loot card that comes in the epic collection, or is the same everytime?
