Around Azeroth: To sail beyond the sunset
Slaine of Trollbane (EU-A) writes, "After a four-hour camp, Slaine celebrates her gnome pirate ghost hat on the quick flight between Vashj'ir and Gnomeregan, where she intends to mess with the minds of new gnomes and possibly be murdered by guards. I still think the Azure Drake may over time become one of the rarest mounts in the game. Nobody wants to go back and do 25-man Malygos."

I love this mount... I got him on my first try, on my first raid in a new guild. I was such a newbie at the time. I didn't even know a mount dropped.
A year later, I really appreciate it. I've never seen another one on our server, even though I've looked, and I know there has to be one out there somewhere. It's probably also why I never thought Maly was /that/ bad.

Malygos wasn't so bad, it was getting to phase 3 and not having the red drakes spawn to catch you when the floor fell away that sucked. Good thing it only happened a couple times.

I got one doing Malygos for a Guild Achievement but before that I don't think I'd seen one on my server. I get whispers everyday asking me where it came from. Its a great mount.

I like EoE but so many people don't because it's a different kind of fight. Wasn't it this mount that was in Occulus grab bags for awhile? One of my guild members got it that way but I think Slaine is correct. No one run's EoE anymore so this is, indeed, a rare mount.

I got it the one time my guild went back and did Maly together for the weekly boss. I didn't win the roll, though. But 10k gold was hard for the guy who did win to pass up. This was back after they added the blue drake goodie bag to Oculus and moved Azure down to 10-man. They said they were going to revert that change in Cata, but according to its WoWHead page, they never did, so it might be a little easier than you think. Personally, I hope it stays nice and rare, playing into the discussion in the Queue the other day about increasing commonality being inversely proportional to perceived "awesomeness".
On an unrelated note, I've sent screenshots with it in, but they've never been picked. I guess being a ghost gnome is the clincher though. Although, I personally think having a Wolvar standing on the saddle while flying upside down is cooler.
