The problem I have when one is down is twofold:

a) I don't usually know it's down.

b) *More importantly* I'm busy enough tanking or avoiding the fire that I don't often have time to search for or click on it.

That being said, I do click it when those issues are not in the way. It's just a terrible mechanic for a heal in the first place, though. Honestly, just make it an aoe hot and be done with it.
