Around Azeroth: Cave in
I don't know why, but I find this picture really depressing. Being trapped underground with no hope of rescue is one of the most frightening things I can think of. (I blame this book.) Prayers won't save you, lady! Just hearth out! Thanks to Danny for the screenshot.

Watch The Descent to make you hate cave-ins even more.
Syxia Apr 12th 2011 10:26AM
I thought I would hate that movie, but it actually wasn't bad. Can't say the second one was as good...
o0amber0o Apr 12th 2011 10:37AM
Seriously. That's the only scary movie that literally made me close my eyes at one point.
I also watched Sanctum when it was in theaters and that reiterated the fact that I will NEVER step foot in a cave.
And I won't lie, I got anxiety looking at this picture and get really anxious and nervous when playing in caves in the game or any game really...

Been meaning to watch that, but keep forgetting to add it to my Netflix. Your comment and my actions have now fixed that problem for me.

I love the little graphic touches in the game, like the shafts of light with lit dust particles, that give it more depth. But I'm still glad that the graphics are not about realism. Like the recent Disney movie, Tangled, it's just the right balance of cartoony and detailed (yet the older models could certainly use updating).

Is that the spider cave in Dustwallow Marsh?

Are you sure that the prayers won't? I mean, the light shining down on her looks kinda like someone heard her prayers and is planning to lift her out.
Well, A'dal has to do something these days.

Avalanche. I read that book. Him describing how he had to eat the raw grouse he had caught, and how he used the bones in the snow to mark how much time had passed. Will scare the shit out of you if you ever consider skiing.
And who the !@#$ is selling it for $36 in paperback on Amazon?
Drakkenfyre Apr 12th 2011 12:10PM
To follow up on my comment, there are two people on Amazon selling it for $100. Some people are just unbelievable stupid to think someone would pay that much for a common paperback book.
VioletArrows Apr 12th 2011 1:30PM
I see weird stuff like that all over Amazon. I think it's some kind of pricing bot getting it wrong. Sort of like how you'll see some wtf prices on the AH.
Drakkenfyre Apr 12th 2011 1:44PM
It could possibly be a bot. But sometimes it's just idiotic people who are greedy, and think people will pay.
Like the websites where someone orders an item at $40 wholesale, then put them on their site for $200, $100 over retail price, thinking someone will order from them.
Sometimes you will see in the description "new in box!!! unopened!!! rare and hard to find" on Amazon, so they think the object they are selling is valuable, even when it's nowhere near what the value they place on it.
Like people buying a common video game, and slapping it up there for $80.

I prefer the really stupid stuff with the hysterical comments. Like this:

US$147. Awwwww yeah.

Great job, Danny!
I really like this picture. It conveys a story.
I agree with Kar On's comment. The rays of light suggest a prayer has been heard. This is one pic that is going in my WoW - Around Azeroth screensaver folder.
Off topic: Perhaps Around Azeroth could have a contest where you post a pic and the readers could submit a a short story telling what is going on.

Thank you :)

Every time I see that same loose piece of rope on that same pulley in different dungeons, I think, "I bet that vendor who just bought a bunch of ooze and random cloth armor off me would pay some serious coin for that rope and/or pulley." Sadly, I can never find out.

Not exactly a cave in story, but the Mystery Of Amigara Fault is definitely a creep fest for clastrophobes: http://brasscockroach.com/h4ll0w33n2007/manga/Amigara-Full/Amigara.html
